I don't think that the band wanted to be involved with it. Only two band members answered the fans questions and Richie and Jon never bothered.

Plus there was a conflict of interests with Backstage, since this is supposed to offer presales and everything and it costs much more and all the money stay in the "family" and not in the record company.

I think that it was obvious that it was going to close eventually since there were no updates for a long time now. Not even a new contest.

I think that if the band wanted to support it, it could have been great. But the way it ended up it's better that it is shutting down.

Pfffff! Don't these things work against the band's own interests? They should think them through before starting them and make fools of themselves by not doing nothing about them and then closing them down like this.

I'm actually surprised they give everyone a refund. I'm still glad I didn't join, but it's good that they agree with the fans that it indeed is a rip off.

I just think the timing on this site was bad. It had potential but just kind of fell by the wayside.
As for pre-sales I'm under the impression that AEG live will be handling this kind of thing, so we should be getting some. It's early yet we'll have to wait and see.
As for thr refund, I think it was the right thing to do and cool that they are.

How much does it cost to join Backstage? Is it worth it?

I'm glad that we get our money back! 'Cause I don't think AXP have been worth the money it's just been a long wait for something new to come up one that site. So thank you the Bon Jovi staff!

It costs $40
It depends what you want for your $40 to think its worth it.

I want a wrist band to get into the pit and am willing to pay $40 for it.
To me, the rest of the stuff they have is crap. Including the message board.
