Yes. Silly isn't it ? They do the same sort of things at the bonjovi.nl forum Edwin sort of owns. I've got the same rank there. It seems like the backstage policy is becoming famous. It's even sort of illegal to talk about my own forum, or even about me in person over there. You'll get a warning for that if you do. And if you continue, you get banned. Just silly.

The board is no more strict than before. If you insult someone, you get punished - it is the same here. I didn't really see the need to make a post a sticky. It is just the new mods trying to make themselves known. Backstage has very few problems with trolls - just have we have few problems here. The only problems they have are centered on MB, who no doubt will be exempt from the 'banning if you insult someone' rule.

They do seem to be really sucking the life out of it in that I think discussions there will be even rarer, & as Mousebounce said - will soon end in tears due to a lack of tolerance. I also don't see the need to fill up the general Bon Jovi discussion forum with posts about the new site.

Erk - Sounds like you'd enjoy that punishment a bit too much!

I guess punishment here isn't as severe. But we do delete posts etc.... Send warning PM's. (& they r pretty scarey, especially when Mouse starts sending them). The balance is to not destroy the discussions.

People are not supposed to be punished on a board. You don't ban someone in real life either when you're having a discussion in which no one agrees with your statement. If you're doing no good on a messageboard you will be punished in that way that you'll be bashed by most members.

People who think others should be banned on a forum while they're actually there for the reason the board exists should just shut up and think again, because basically they just want to create a safe world for themselves online since they can't handle real life.

Here is the response to that question:

The banned user discussion is not a public matter to reviewed. There are definite reasons for every action taken and no special exceptions will be made because of past service or participation. The forum will not be allowed to deteriorate to a less then civil place to share ideas and conversation as it had in the past. Nor will anyone attempting to exploit the members/information/server be tolerated. When a person is no longer permitted on the site the idea of discussing it w/o them is also in poor taste. Since she is no longer able to post, she can not defend herself or stop speculation. As such I am closing this thread.

That's the way it works for Edwin as well. First you were "allowed" to discuss about it but when the mods found out they were losing the discussion it suddenly wasn't tolerated anymore.
