Bed Of Roses

My all time favourite ballad is I'll Be There For You but I really like Bed Of Roses. It was great to hear it in Punchestown in 2008.

It's quite sad what they, well just Jon, did to it at the recent concerts. The music is the same, the vocals are somewhere between the tlfr and the normal version. Sad, very sad.

I think BoR could be Bon Jovi's best ballad of all time. They just don't write songs like this anymore. It's a real shame that Jon can't hit the notes live anymore as it's an awesome song. It's obviously a love song, but it's not a cheesy one like a lot of the other ballads. I think the difference between SWW/NJ to KTF is immense. The band grew up so much in those four years between the albums. I'd describe BoR as a mature ballad about being on the road away from someone you love. It's a great recording as it's full of passion. You get the feeling Jon means every word of it which is something the new Jovi stuff lacks.

The lyrics are so great it is untrue. Jon sings it with such a passion. The guitar solo is one of Richies best work and the over all guitar work is great.

Many people complains on the recent peformances of the song but the Frankfurt 2008 peformance is for me one of the absolute best peformace ever done on Bed of Roses. Jon sings it with sucha passion. And the long missing "I've got nothing to prove" scream, not just singing are back. Here's a link.

hmmm really? Jon skips the "barkeeper"-part (the best part IMHO) and the rest is meeee. The performed it well on the KTF tour - that's it....
If you turn off the sound you might think that Jon is completely drunk - another proof that he cannot act hehe

Even though I agree it's better than most post 2000 versions, I have to say that I don't like it, Jon sounds like shit all over this song nowadays, its just too high for him

I believe through 95' they also kicked ass on Bed of Roses..


Also on that amazing performance, you can hear Richie's backing vocals so clearly.. so what's not to love?

I love the lyrics, " With an iron clad fist I wake up and french kiss the morning" Used to be my fav jovi song of all time but that chops and changes regularly with the mood I'm in lol. Allthough I must admit this was a hard one to learn all of the lyrics to. all in all it is an amazing song, musically, lyrically, vocally just top knotch. LUV IT!

I think Roses was the first Bon Jovi song I heard and is probably my favourite ballad. I've always dug it more than Always.
