Default Best ballad

Bon jovi has done many awesome ballads in their career. What is your opinion of the their best ballad and why. My favorite is a tie between I'll be there for you and Bed of Roses. Bed of Roses is a better quality song overall, but I'll Be There for You is simplistically romantic. My least is probably You had me from Hello (is that the title?) because each time I hear it I picture Jerry McGuire and that was such a romantic movie scene that I preferred it spoken in the movie. Yet, to others, the song may have made the quote more romantic. Just my opinion.

Despite the critics of this song, I love 'Always'...love the lyrics, love the music, love the harmonies...and LFL '95 version of this is one of BJ's best moments on stage. Having said that, while I love Always, I think their best ballad is Living In Sin. [there is a live version of this song (thinks it's Japan), that is a bit spine tingling]

That's the released ones....'Stay'...now that's a song that could have been /should have been released on an album...along with Does Anybody Really Fall in Love Anymore.

Like you say there has been many great ballads, and it is hard to find just one. If I had to choose one then it would probably be Bed of Roses. The think the lyrics are exceptional for a love song. It seems to be pretty much about a guy being so far away from his girl like when the band is on tour, and wanting to be with her so bad that he's becoming a wreck. I love Richie's "weaping" guitar effects in the intro and solo. The piano also plays a significant part, which I feel gives the song a good feel to it. Great ballad.

I don't consider I'll Be There For You to be a ballad. I think it's more of a blues song. And the lyrics are really more desperate than romantic. There's really no chance the chick will take him back. I mean, he missed her birthday for godsakes!!! Her birthday!!!! He didn't mean too!!!!! He wishes he'd seen her blow those candles ou-out! WAAAAAAAAAAA-HHOOOOO!

I'd say it's Bed of Roses. The song seems like it really comes from the heart.

BOR is my favorite too. The funny thing is, I didn't really like it when I first heard it. Now, I never get tired of hearing it.

Always is my favorite, although I'll Be There for You and Bed of Roses are close behind.

I actually think "You Had Me From Hello" is a decent song, not even close to best ballad, but I like it.

Me too, I got it first on Crossroad and I thought it was one of the weaker ones, but after lots of listening and finding out precisely what the song is about I love it.

Definitely, Bed Of Roses.

The lyrics, the chorus, the guitar solo, the piano... Simply, the best.
