Crush-Save The World, yes, it's cheezy but the vocals are great;

Bounce-You Had Me From Hello, just a very sweet sentiment;

HAND-I agree with Seb, no ballads on this cd but for slow song, I like Wildflower;

Lost Highway-Tie for me between MAM which is fantastic but there is something about Seat Next To You that I just adore too.

Why throw out terms like "post-2000" and "pre-2000?' That's really stupid...

To answer the question, Lost Highway completely blows away the other 3 albums in terms of ballads, and competes with all of their other albums very nicely. Dare I say I'd rate it's ballads higher than all albums but Keep the Faith and These Days.

^^Why's that really stupid?

The reason everybody uses those terms (and, just for the record, always have used those terms) is because there is a monumental shift in music between TD and Crush anybody must be blind not to see.

I think it's a perfectly justified observation.

Thanks for that.

I knew that if I had included all the pre 2000 albums then some of these songs would not have stood a chance. My point was to see how the ballads on LH stood up against the other albums listed.

what about living in sin, i'll be there for you, wild is the wind, never say goodbye, stick to your guns (if considered a ballad)...?

'Lonely' (Lost Highway bonus track) is the greatest post-2000 Bon Jovi ballad, and to be honest probably my favourite ever. Fantastic vocal melody throughout, great harmonies in the chorus particularily near the end. Really emotional and criminally overlooked.

I appreciate 'MAM' too for the sheer braveness of releasing it as a first single, came as a shock to me when i first heard it but grew on me and now i love it.

Pre-2000? 'Diamond Ring' wins hands down, like 'Lonely' it's the simplicity of it and the heartfelt vocal melodies that get me.
'I'll Be There For You' comes close, what a great pop single.

The worst? 'Thankyou For Loving Me', 'All About Lovin You', 'You Had Me From Hello', 'Save The World', and i've never liked 'Bed Of Roses' either.

Make A Memory is the best for sure, it has climbed up into my top 5 of all time favorite songs. Gorgeous song.

But i also have to vote for Bells of Freedom. I love that song and it is very powerful live.

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

If we're talking post 2000... Make a Memory is an easy choice.
Pre 2000 is a difficult decision. Silent Night, Never Say Goodbye, I'll Be There for You, Living in Sin, Bed of Roses, Always, This Ain't a Love Song all deserve honourable mentions.

It's stupid because it isn't necessary. You know, not all of us think the quality of Bon Jovi's music went down with Crush and beyond. Personally, speaking for HAND and LH, I think it went up. And if you'd listen to Destination Anywhere and Undiscovered Soul you hear a very nice transition between These Days and Crush. It's the same with Blaze of Glory/Stranger and New Jersey and Keep the Faith. Stupid terms. Music is music. Quit hiding behind idiotic terminology as it only makes you look ignorant.

And to whoever mentioned Lonely, I'd have to agree. It's fantastic.
