This is a perfect example showing how Jon becomes more relaxed once Richie joins in. If Richie wasn't there, I don't think Jon could hold it together as good.

This is a big reason why this is Jon's worst tour vocally. Some of it is mind over matter. I think Jon knowing that Richie will be jumping in at certain times puts him at ease mentally. This is why "Always" sounds the way it does and needs to be pull it out of the set before Jon pops a blood vessel in his head.

And I believe this is a big reason why we don't see I'll Be There For You showing up on this tour either. Jon first tried getting away with the TLFR version which was a bust. Then Richie took it as a solo performance. Finally, they did it together in front of the stage which worked well because of Richie's involvement.

Jon's voice just can't handle those types of songs anymore which is really starting to hurt their live shows. We don't even hear Blaze anymore either. It's a crying shame. Instead we get Lost Highway, Whole Lotta Leavin, Capt Crash, and all that other crap.

Jon needs Richie back more so for his voice. It's sad when your guitar player has a better voice than your lead singer.

After this tour, Jon needs to take some time off to catch his breath, literally. Work on some good solo stuff and stay away from touring for a while. Hopefully we'll get something good for 30 years. They need to regroup as a band again and start over from scratch. Go to an 18 song set list with great songs and get Richie more involved vocally. Bring back the acoustic version of Never Say Goodbye. Let Richie sing I'll Be There For You and one of his solo songs.

If Jon wants to get this band back on track, he needs to bring his passion back to music during his time off and regroup as a band. He's trying to do too much other stuff and it's distracting his musical creativity. Yes, his voice is an issue but it's still possible to have good songs with his current voice. His range shrunk and his tone has changed but he could still sing.

There is definitely a pattern between Jon's musical demise and the time spent on politics and other events. It all started with that AFL football team. I'm not saying that he should give that stuff up but either focus on one thing at a time or spend more time between albums making them.

Hanging out at Notre Dame one day, while attending an Obama fund raiser the next, while running into the studio for an hour and putting the rest into Shanks' hands isn't working.

The talent is still there. I still see it in their music, but it's just not real anymore. They need to get that passion back as a band.

Sorry so long. Just needed to get that out.

Don't forget this one: I'd die for you, performed in Yokohoma 1996. The chorus is excellent!
