Well, lyrically they are grown on the same earth.

And the musial pattern is all the same. Two times riff, break: First line vocals, riff, second line vocals, riff, and then two lines of bridge played straight through leading into the chorus. That's a pattern that was new with IML and has been used various times ever since, usually on the "live my life"-theme songs, being more obvious in other songs though, like "Bounce" and "Complicated" (both of which have the talkbox and the keyboard thing), and stuff like "We Got It Going On", which also has the same structure, just without the keyboard and a different riff.

And the chord pattern in the chorus of IML is partly identical with HAND, just in another key. You can sing the chorus of IML along to HAND: "It's my (life) ooohh if there's one thing I hang onto". So that all makes it an IML clone for me. Still, they managed to give the song a different feeling/attitude. But to me it's an attempt to clearly re-write IML, just as "Bounce" was.

"Everyday" on the other hand is musically quite different. Just the lyrics make it an IML clone.
