Yeah, I think a band should always open with a new song. It just shows balls y'know??

Sadly there is a point to be had here.

I think the only thing that stops them being a nostalgia act is forcefully churning out more and more studio albums.

exactly. it just shows they are really backing their album and believe in what they've produced. it's such a shame they haven't put effort into promoting TC when it's been their greatest album in years.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a 'nostalgia act' if you have more than 10 albums and you play for at least 2.5 hours every show, and changing the setlist, mixing the hits with fan favorites.

It is absolutely better than forcefully releasing more studio albums. Artists can't force out inspiration. The result of that is uninspired material with no quality control. I hope Jon never becomes Billy Corgan.

Obviously the best is keep releasing new inspired albums regularly and still playing the hits people love, BOBITA and other fan favorites.

Happy Now is a pretty cool song.

But the best opener of The Circle tour was Blood on Blood.

Raise Your Hands has been the best.

The rest lack the impact an opener needs.

I agree with this totally, although from TC, I can't see any song besides WWBTF that is appropriate to open the show. And that still needs to be immediately followed by a classic that everybody knows and loves so that the momentum isn't lost.

Having not seen them on the HAND tour, seeing them open with Last Man Standing at the O2 was the first time I´ve seen the song performed live. I never considered it to be anything special on the album, but seeing them open with it completely changed my mind. It was a great way to open the show and really made me appreciate the song. There was a lot more punch to it at the O2 than on the record.

Happy Now is also a great opener. Now that we´ve had TC for a almost a year, I think HN is one of the best tracks on the album and a classic BJ song.
