It was probably the best show I've been to but it was back when I didn't yet have every CD, or know all the songs they performed, it was right around the time I was becoming a true die-hard. I feel like if I had gotten a show like that a year later, I would have appreciated it a lot more than I did at the time.
Not that I didn't appreciate the show - it was probably the final tipping point in making me become an absolute Bon Jovi nut because I thought it was such an amazing show, but Jon's vocal struggles during the tours before LH and his "comeback" during 08 was something I was completely unaware of.
Bottom line - I need more Bon Jovi. I really hope it isn't over. I get a weird feeling now when I watch concert videos on YouTube. Like I'm watching something that will never happen again.

I have a feeling that, no matter how long Bon Jovi continues, I'll always feel that there's still that little bit left in the tank. Bon Jovi are not the only band that I love, (Metallica, Scorpions, Iron Maiden etc. all have a place in my heart) but they are special. Every album has at least a few tracks that speak to me and have helped me throughout my life, and probably into the future
I hate the idea of them calling it a day, and even worse is the concept of them breaking up. Jon may not be at his prime vocally, but changing up the style and production of future songs can help him play to his strengths. After all, there are plenty of great musicians who don't have fantastic vocal ranges.
As for how the future will pan out? I hope that we see what Richie is truly capable of in a solo setting. Though I'm Australian, I feel no sense of loyalty to Orianthi and find their so-called 'chemistry' quite sickening. A Jon solo record would be great, hopefully with him mixing it up a bit. That would pave the way for a band album and tour.
Diamond Ring live in 2013 was a highlight for me. I don't think I'll ever forget the performance song, though it's not my favourite from TD, nor is it a great live track. But the beauty of the lyric and the tenderness of the performance sold me. I had been a fan of the band for a very long time before that, but that was the moment that I new I had made a life-long commitment. This is all coming from a 6 foot 7 young man who is a massive Metallica fan
The band may be a lot older than me, but hell, I ain't ready to say goodbye. But please for the love of all that is holy in this world, get John Shanks the f*&% out of here!
