I wouldn't worry about what Jon said.
I think it was meant to be a flippant comment, to emphasize that the band has no defined plans post-LH.

My interpretation of that comment from Jon is that his music plans for the next year or so could focus on a Greatest Hits Vol. 2, a solo record or simply doing nothing in music for that time before Bon Jovi get back together for their next album. I would seriously doubt he meant 'walking away' as walking away from music for good.

That's exactly what I took from it. He's just saying he has no immediate plans for when the tour ends.

I'll be shocked if this documentary ever happens. It just sounds like one of those empty promises. Remember in 1988-89, Jon said several times they were recording for a live album. I'm still waiting for that one. And no, OWN doesn't count.
