I'll be shocked if this documentary ever happens. It just sounds like one of those empty promises. Remember in 1988-89, Jon said several times they were recording for a live album. I'm still waiting for that one. And no, OWN doesn't count.
I disagree.
I think the documentary will happen, but I think it will be very LH Tour centric.
As for the late 80's live album, I've always wondered if that really an "empty promise" or was it that 1. The band basically fell apart, and 2. Jon's voice was shot by the end.

I think Brian's right, it was just a casual comment to emphasise that they don't know what lies ahead yet. We're sitting here analysing it now but the reporter would have used it as their lead ("BON JOVI COULD WALK AWAY FROM MUSIC INDUSTRY") if it had been interpreted as anything more serious. Jon might consider taking a nice break after this tour but as he said, he's "not thinking about it, y'know". And Richie's comments afterwards suggest a break (and not even a long one), not a retirement.

Jon's voice wasn't shot on the New Jersey tour. They were supposedly recording within the 1st month or 2 of the tour.

This has always been an odd subject with me concerning the band. I'd say, ask 100 Bon Jovi fans when the band sounded at their best, and I'd say every one of them would pick 88-95 over 2000. Yet, they decide to release their first live album with half of the recordings from 2000. Their first live DVD is from a fantastic Wembley show, yet a bunch of songs are missing.

For reference, I saw this sign up at Twickenham, presumably to do with whatever they are shooting -

I saw this in different places around the queues on each night, I was only slightly dubious about its authenticity because of the part "throughout the universe"

That attendence number has got to be wrong...

I think that attendance # is for US/Canada arenas. Various press releases have stated that the Lost Highway Tour has sold over 2 million tickets.

-Hence why I said it was number 2. I do think it was a factor, but I think the major factor was how the band basically fell apart Post-NJ. From every source I've ever seen/heard, the band basically wanted nothing to do with each other after the tour, so I doubt that mixing/promoting/releasing a live record was very high on anyone's to-do list. By the time they reunited, they were obviously focused on the future and their new KTF-Era image, which would not have meshed with an late 80's style live record.
As for OWN, that record is a rush and hatchet job to capitalize on Crush, plain and simple. I'll always have a soft spot for it, since it and Slippery were my first BJ albums back in '01, but I can't lie about what it is.

Seems like the kind of humor (see: stupid) that the band likes to use.

Yeah that sounds more right. This tour I think in the end will have a bigger attendance than the last tour.
