I'm American, and I prefer GA shows myself. Love being able to move around the floor, if I'm lucky enough to be on the floor for any given show.

I have heard that it has to do with the crazy lawsuits in the US. You can get easily hurt in a GA area and then sue the hell out of the place.

Just my opinion. I think Europeans would agree with me. I still hope that their stadium gigs won't have the seats, it enough in arenas, like O2.
Hey, I'm not saying people are actually sitting in those seats, but that's how it is. GA is either limited or at smaller venues.

Do you even know what an arena is like then and I don't just mean in the US? People are in rows and lines in MSG because you can't move the seats, they are in-tact and so are the corridors. Most people stand anyway even in the seated sections in the lower levels. The nosebleeds are a different story but I would even have a hard time getting excited over nosebleeds because of the general experience.

I honestly don't think that's it at all. I think it's a lawsuit thing for one. And I think the lawsuit scare grew out of the Who concert in 1979 where 11 people were crushed to death against the doors waiting for GA. There was no GA after that for years at any show in this country. Then in Bruce's 99 Reunion tour they tried a small pit or GA area right up front. Those areas have gotten bigger over the years until this year - the entire floor at Giants was GA with the typical stadium seating in the stands.

Bon Jovi tried a small GA area on the HAND tour and all the women on backstage complained bitterly I was in that GA area in row 2 in 2006 when they finally sang Dry County again here. It's one of the highlights of my memories of Bon Jovi shows.

Being a financially strapped college student, I pretty much make the nosebleeds my home at any major (arena or stadium) gig I go to, with very few exceptions. I must say, I've found that the experience is as much fun as I personally make it.

^That had a lot to do with setting concert laws all around the US, and many of them have become standard over time.

I'd rather see Kid Rock then someone like Dashboard Confessional. I try to avoid being in the nosebleeds but I think if they do the shows in July, I may have to. I never understand when I am at a show why people sit down and don't get into it. I understand it if you are at a show where the performance is more mellow. I tend to rock out and ignore the party poopers.

I'm was holding on to some hope that AAR would be announced as the Giants opener, but I doubt that, since they just announced they're doing Warped again. I've only Kid Rock for the "supposed" July shows, so how about a Jersey band for May. Either The Gaslight Anthem or My Chemical Romance would be awesome.

I'd LOVE it to be The Gaslight Anthem. Do you think they're too associated with Bruce to be picked?
