Good point. Saw them live (either opening for Bon Jovi or for Metallica at a festival in Italy) and thought they were complete rubbish!

The guy is right despite your story. And there's nothing wrong with selling out 2000 people arenas either, if you make honest music that you believe in. However, hearing those It's My Life clones on every single record, now that SUCKS, and that sucks even if that allows you to sell out deserts, twice (I just threw up a little for quoting Jon Bon Bon)
Dude, you don't have a ****ing clue. You don't state your age and say you’re from Transylvania so you're obviously an idiot.

In America, it was still the 80's until '92 ish

I love every band you mentioned above but none of them did shit after '92.

Def Leppard were having top 10 hits? Really? Name one?

Guns n' Roses were still the biggest shit out there in 1992? Really? The Spaghetti Incident?" Since I don't have you really kicked ass..

Metallica bigger than ever in the 90's? Bigger than the 80's?

I can't even go on. You're a ****ing moron...

As for Def Leppard - Two Steps Behind and When Love and Hate Collide, both 1993.

GNR was the biggest band in the world in 1992. TSI wasn't until 1994 I believe.

Yes, Metallica was much bigger in the 90's than in the 80's. Can't believe anyone would even try and argue that. The Black album came out in 1991.

Metallica were bigger in the 90s than the 80s. Enter Sandman is from 1991 and is probably their most popular song to date. And I would say they are bigger now as a nostalgia act than they ever have. Guns N Roses had huge singles in 92, and were pretty much a flop afterwards, but as were Bon Jovi - pretty much a flop after Keep The Faith. They both could easily sell stadiums though. You are a ****ing moron.

GNR weren't a flop as much as they imploded. Had they released an album of original material in the mid 90s, it would have been successful.

Wow! Unbelievable display of intelligence. Not stating my age and being from Transylvania makes me an idiot? Rock on man. Very very good.
Let's see: Cluj-Napoca ( Medieval Latin: Castrum Clus, Claudiopolis) commonly known as Cluj, is the second most populous city in Romania[...]Located in the Someşul Mic River valley, the city is considered the unofficial capital to the historical province of Transylvania. Between 1790–1848 and 1861–1867, it was the official capital of the Grand Principality of Transylvania.

Stunning! In America it was the 80s until 1992. So it's about 2005ish for you right now. Just to let you know, Bon Jovi will bring out a record called Have a Nice day later in the year, then they will follow it up with a country record. And yes, an Afro-American will be voted America's president. I kid you not, just wait and see.

Danfan has answered all your questions. A little bit of Google wouldn't hurt you either. I suspect you lack the IQ to actually do it though.

You can't go on because your brain got tired from posting such a logically sound reply. Well done. And yes, I am a moron. That makes you, I don't know...some kind of a brain tumour, and I am actually being nice to you.

I'm not sure if there is a translation issue or you're just an idiot.

Saying it was the 80's until '92 is a Metaphor.... meaning that the music scene didn't crossover until '92 ish. Anyone with common sense and intellect knew what I was implying..... Yes, Met a phor. Look it up.

So being that the mark starts at 1992, we can dismiss everything prior to that point.

I proved that Bon Jovi had major continuing success throughout the mid 90's and survived the grunge revolution. Multiple hit songs, with multiple hit albums, with multiple types of exposure (meaning they were still relevant).

You implied that a bunch of bands from the 80's survived that point.

Let’s break it down again:

Def Leppard had only ONE hit in 1993 with Two Steps Behind. It peaked at number 12 so it wasn't even a top 10. And that's pretty much it. Goodbye!!!!!

When Love & Hate Collide was NOT a hit. Using my Google skills, it peaked at '58 so if that was a hit than Midnight in Chelsea #27 and Janie, Don't Take Your Love to Town #48 were major hits because they both peaked higher. DISMISSED!!!!

Guns and Roses - Using my Google skills - The Spaghetti Incident?" was released in 1993 which spawned three singles of which all 3 didn't chart. Wait, Since I Don't Have You peaked at 69. Yes, this was a covers album but Guns and Roses were known for putting out successful covers. Sympathy for the Devil was released in '94 and only peaked at #55. It did however beat When Love & Hate Collide.

You can't say that G&R would have been great in the 90's because you don't know. Appetite and Lies were brilliant. UYI 1 and 2 had a few great songs but weren’t masterpieces. They weren't as raw as the first two.

Metallica - They did have success in the 90's but they weren't an 80's hair band and Alternative Bands didn't hate them which was the point to my post

My initial point to this entire thread was to explain how Alternative Bands hated 80's bands and used Bon Jovi as their poster child.

The reason why I asked your age is becasue I lived through it in America. You can't just look at a bunch of numbers on Google and make conclusions.

On A Side Note:
This board has really turned into a complete shit show lately. I belong to a different board for a different band and it's nothing like what this board has turned into. Do they bash the artist? Sure. But they do it with intellect and fact. There are also a bunch of positive posts which would be a complete shocker here. They are actually passionate about the band they like. I can pick any post on this board and someone is bashing Bon Jovi. On top of that, the posts lately are ****ing Ridicules. "Does Dave pee standing-up" Seriously, get the **** out of here if all you're going to do is bash, complain, and cry. I'm really sick of listening to you cunts.

If Bon Jovi were a flop after '92, what was Always in '94 genius? Cross Roads sold 5 million albums because of that song.

This Ain't A Love Song peaked at number 14 in '95 and These Days still managed to crank out a million copies.

I don’t know why I even reply to your posts and give you the time of day. I thought after a year or so you’d grow-up. I need to go back to ignoring you again.
