Default BJ and 7800 vs Slippery and Jersey

Which two albums do you prefer and why? The first two albums or the albums that made BJ huge?

I have a slight preference to Slippery and Jersey though lately I've been listening to the first two a lot more. I think the first two are maybe a little bit heavier and darker and while the songs arn't really as catchy, they still rock pretty hard. They still have that intense and full sound and they are quite solid with mostly good songs.

Ah, Slippery and Jersey. The debut is pretty good, but a tad hit and miss, with very little that really stands out. 7800 is a lot better, but still doesn't sound quite right sometimes.... Jon's voice gets too whiny, or that annoying synthesiser starts up yet again, and i dunno.... tis a good album, but not a real classic. Slippery and Jersey are IMO, high quality music from start to finish

Keep On Rockin'

SWW and NJ are by far the netter albums. I appreciate Farnheit alot more now than what i did when I first bought it but no matter how much I listen to BJ i just cant get into it.

sww/nj by far. the quality fo songs cant be rivalled by the previous two, which are very off balance in places.

Totally agree. In hindsight, I don't think the first 2 would have made me a fan, it would have been SWW or NJ.

I couldn't compare them. They are from different parts of their career, despite being done within a very small time space. It was all about the learning curve to see what works.

Though BJ and 7800 were probably necessary for them to pull out SWW and NJ, they're still not that good and they sound more like Jon+the band than Bon Jovi, IMO.

So SWW and NJ for me.
