Exactly. Plus, if it was auto-tuned, it would sound completely unnatural. On the video you can hear a classic, Save The World-esque JBJ scream/high note. Being doctored, Jon would sound like a robot on it.

It's not too good to be true. It's just Jon proving us wrong one more time. Here's something I could imagine JBJ having thought about recently regarding his voice (not really, but we can always imagine, right?):

"F***, I'm still sounding bad. I've done everything I can and yet I haven't really improved. *sigh* F*** it, I'll try. Now, how did I sing all those high notes back in the day? OOOOONCE again. OOOOOOOONCE again! Shit, I'm almost there. Big John, could you come up here and kick me in the balls - maybe it would help? One, two, three... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONCE AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN! Nailed it. Thanks, bud! Now, let's see if I can still sing Let's Make It Baby..."

So he hits a note this time, big deal. I’m with Walleris on this one.

Can you give me an example how high that note is? For example give a part of a Jovi song where he sings that high.

Bed Of Roses (studio version) - "on a BED OF NAAAAAIIIIILS..." on the final chorus.

Open All Night (box set) - "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEEEAAAH...".

The highest notes of Hey God (studio version) - "what the hell is GOING on, it seems like all the GOOD shit's gone, etc.".

Anyone thinking he's going to be back to his 94/95 voice is seriously deluded. Great that he hit the note, but the tone is still dreadful. Hitting it in a studio is very different to hitting notes night after night on a tour...

It's just a step in the right direct and something we as fans thought we'd never hear again... Sure, take the note out and you have nothing more than a post 2017 JBJ vocal... But it's the little elements that make the moment...

At the very start of this tour, 8 months ago, I thought I'd never hear songs like BOR / These Days / Always live ever again.... By the end of the SA tour, I was actually extremely satisfied... Although far from perfect, they still had elements of enjoyment, especially BOR... What was even more thrilling was to see Jon spark back to life because of it...

Now, Jon is talking about doing songs like Blaze Of Glory, which again falls into the above...

Today we hear Jon hit a note that he hasn't done in who knows how long... That note was definitely up there...

Look, I live in a reality and know Jon will never sing like he did in the 80's and 90's. Heck, Jon might never sing again like he did in 2013 but what I'm seeing is a positive trend...

Jon left SA strong and if he could come back in even stronger, that would be amazing... For me, it's not just the voice... In some ways its the confidence because that brings the passion... The highlight of These Days and Saturday Night in Sao Paulo were the Ohhhhhs... And Jon becoming one with the Audience... That's Jon Bon Jovi !!!!

This is the perfect glass half empty / half full scenario... You pick your path.

I picked mine and like I said, today is a victory...

I don't think so. His tone will probably be pretty thin for the rest of his career, but if he manages to hit a high C without autotune, I think that says a lot. He's not done yet.

On the other hand, you probably think this is "Jon unsustainably putting on 120% effort" again, and it may be that, but it also reveals a fact that hasn't been provable in about 15 years - and that's Jon still having his range. His tone and breathing technique are still severely off, but he's obviously still got the chops to nail things (at least every now and then).
Yes, that's exactly what I think here (again), and I appreciate you remembering my point about the 120% effort.

He can have his "chops to nail things every now and then" all he wants, but it does not matter when the other 20+ songs on the set sound terrible (and for many nights it's ALL the songs in the set). A somewhat decent rendition of Bed Of Roses did not make the whole Rock In Rio 2017 livestream a very pleasant experience to me.

I actually do think there's a hint of autotune there... is it just me? Regardless, it's nice to hear Jon hit a relatively high note for a change, and credit to him for putting himself out there. He was obviously very aware of his vocal issues and seems to be trying to address them to some degree. I will be very excited for a 2018 tour if he can improve his breathing and timing - that's my biggest issue with his vocals since the BWC tour.
