these days wasn't miserable...

if people actually look at the album closely it was a complexity of all sorts of different messages, observations, comments on society and religion, some love songs..., some plain rock n roll ones (Somethign for the pain)

Lie to me was a great concept - if you don't love me lie to me

that's a great lyric, yet simple

all i want is everything was quite upbeat, so was hearts breaking even...

it was a bluesy, mellow album, well-recorded

But the whole tone of the album is miserable!!

The music is either sad or angry in each song.

Even lie to me was miserable....the fact that they are thinking that someone will say that they don't love them is a negative thought.

The track names also tell a story....Something for the pain, Its hard letting you go, hearts breaking even, Bitter wine (do I need to go on?)

It seems that every track in some way or another was negative

life isn't always super happy you know...

i'd rather have a love song or any song i can relate to, rather than hear about how great a life the band have and how much they love their wives and vice versa...

that goes without saying...

but rock n roll is meant to be rebellious and cynical - and life isn't all rosey

These Days is an exceptionally negative album!! I personally would rather listen to upbeat music like KTF rather than negativity like These Days....thankfully its the only negative album that BJ have ever made.
negative?!?

you crazy fool, although based on negative aspects of life, it deals with the negativeity in a positive manner

There are aspects about life that are and aren't happy...and personally I'd rather listen to a fun song like blame it on the love of rock and roll....than a song where someone is miserable like its hard letting you go!!!

I don't want to go to a concert to stand there and feel miserable about life...or be reminded that life isn't all rosey...i'd rather have fun watching hughey blast out the intro to KTF!!

I don't know about that!

In hey god, a person blames all their problems on God..
Lie to me...the person would rather be in denial than know the truth

I can't see how these are positive
