I posted this song online a while ago and said it was Cinderella

It's not Cinderella but CASH (a band that I used to know very well)...in any case....it made it all the way to Jeff LaBar who had to comment on it which I found amusing. When all I wanted was to do an April fool's joke on the actual singer of the band. Hah...he still can't believe Cinderella ended up listening to them just because of a little April's fool joke. The power of the interbet I guess

To think of it. Bon Jovi kinda didn't survive grunge. Bon Jovi evolved into trendsurfing act. Which isn't particularly good thing.

I can't agree with that. They had 3 nights at Wembley Stadium in 1995, had the gig broadcast on Radio 1 and were all over MTV during the 90s... they were an event band. Those Wembley gigs were everywhere, all over the press.

They survived grunge, immaterial of how you believe they went about it. Having said that, KTF and TD were still very much Bon Jovi albums as the bandwagons Jon was jumping on were all a lot closer to their style and influences than those of today.

Grunge didn't make Bon Jovi a nostalgia act, they were still successful worldwide.

What trend were they following in the 90s? Their albums hardly fit in the popular genres of the era (Grunge, Pop Punk, Britpop, Post-Grunge).

Yes, there were dominant musical trends in the early to mid 90s but there were also exceptions.

Both Metallica and Aerosmith (otherwise, old school heavy rock bands) reached their all time commercial peak around that time.

I think Bon Jovi were right there - in-between these two.

Trendsurfing came after grunge. I guess after seeing what else was running up and down the charts. Only positive thing about that is that they didn't jump the Britpop-bandwagon. No matter what you say, after grunge-explosion Bon Jovi became less and less "Bon Jovi" album after album. Some changes worked for them, some did not.

Agreed. In fact, in the UK they were ahead of those two because Jon had something Tyler and Hetfield never had... The movie star looks.

They were the perfect antidote to grunge and even magazines like Q knew that if they wanted to shift copies, they just had to stick Jon on the cover.

I think so and maybe it was just more subtle on TD. But yeah, Crush was the first major step away from what their earlier fans had come to love them for.

Movie star looks doesn't equal charismatic.
