Maybe you guys could try emailing QVC and letting them know there is a large demand for this product overseas. It seems to me that going directly to the source of the product will do more good than asking the darn oompas. Working in retail, I know that companies can, at times, be very prone to helping out their customers. I'll bet that if QVC sees an opportunity to make a lot more money, they'll make the package available overseas. Maybe I'm a bit of an optimist though. It can't hurt to try though, can it???????

Mikey, I was actually hoping that ppl would be more open-minded here than on Backstage... And you just gave me some hope with that statement. I was mainly referring to the Backstage site (and to a lesser extent the Oompas as well) and to the way some USA fans have reacted there when for example European fans have expressed their concern over the possibility that the QVC special won't be made available to international fans. Comments over there have ranged from "sour grapes, huh?" and "bitter much?" to explaining how the rest of the world has got all those singles & bonus tracks and how it's only fair that the USA (and Canada) are getting some exclusives too.

No worries Jovian.....I was actually in your shoes yesterday when the info was first released. i was afraid that they wouldn't be delivering to Canada (which is often the case for special product offerings an USA stations).

I immediately realted to your frustration.

On a side note......I can't stand backstage either...there it seems to be a bunch of women with low self esteem ogling the group. They come off as being a mite shallow, if you kow what I mean.....

Aloha !

Why is everybody making such a big problem about releasing another version from Bounce to sell more from it ? They've been doing it since Faith.

They're not complaining that there's another version being released... some people are complaining that THEY aren't getting the opportunity to buy that special release because it's only available in the US... that's what's at issue. Apparently, the US fans abandoned Bon Jovi in the 90s and the European fans supported them therefore, the US shouldn't be getting all these special perks in the year 2003 - the REAL fans should. There... did I sum that up about right?

if they can sell around 10,000 to 20,000 copies additional what the album has been selling on average by itself(10,000 per week) then they will jump right back into the top 40 again!

f#@! it let them be on QVC i want to see the album jump back up, this should be bigger than the target promotion!

ARGH!!! The two radio station djs in the morning were talking about Bon Jovi being on QVC. One said "Now, you can't call that being a sell out." The other one SORT OF stuck up for our boys by saying "Well, it's not like they're selling Bon Jovi earrings, or locks of their hair."
I was angry and i would've called them up but we were at school at that time. Some of my friends heard the same conversation and said they knew i would be angry.

Anyways, if they want to go on QVC then just let them...i'm definitly going to watch them, even though i don't believe their spot is to be on a home shopping channel
And, of course, i'm going to buy the dvd ...well, i could probably get my mom to buy it for me.

Nope, you didn't... Cause the point is that all fans, regardless of where they live, should have the chance to buy this special release by themselves, without having to rely on the good will of the American & Canadian fans. That's the whole and the only point of the complaints.

Although in the light of the past, it is of course possible to argue that making special editions to American fans exclusively at this point, when they've only been interested in the band again since 2000, could feel like a slap in the face for the hundreds of thousands of non-American fans who never abandoned the band. But that's only a little sidenote, the main point is that everyone should have an equal opportunity for bying that exclusive. Like it is with the European/Japanese/Australian singles, everyone can order them thru the internet if they so choose.

To be honest - I don't agree with what was said about all fans being able to purchase this. Yes - I do think international fans should be recognised just as the American fans are, but I don't see anything wrong with them doing this thing, and this being an American/Canadian thing only... This is what they want to do, and yes, I think it's great for the fans there, but I for one don't think they should do this world-wide... I know I'll get a hold of a copy if I want it bad enough. I guess what I'm trying to say is that not everything bj has got to be internationally distributed.

Good for you, North Americans Being a Finn, I'm used to not get all priviledges, and it doesn't bother me that much.

You know what, Anu? GET OVER IT. The temper tantrum over the fact the band isn't coming to your country, that the Target CD isn't available to you, that now the QVC product isn't available to you... rant and rave all you want but it only sounds like the constant noise of sour grapes.

GET OVER YOURSELF.... in case you don't GET IT, the general public in the US "abandoned" Bon Jovi in the 1990s... NOT THE BON JOVI FANS. Can you managed to understand the difference because based upon your writings, you're not differentiating. There are a shitload of US fans who were suffering through a drought of Bon Jovi materials, footage, access in the 90's because the rest of the casual BJ listening public moved on to the fashion of the day... the real fans never left. If it makes YOU feel better about yourself and your country because YOU personally saved the band during the period, FINE. But don't be so naive as to presume Bon Jovi fans abandoned the band. They didn't. Life is not fair. You are not owed anything. Demand everything you want for every territory but if you've been so lucky to follow the band on tour as you say you have, have a little bit of empathy for people who have NEVER seen the band EVER.... You can attempt to have a rational argument on this topic until your face turns blue but the bottom line is this: THIS PRODUCT APPARENTLY WILL ONLY BE AVAILBLE VIA QVC IN THE US AND CANADA. Deal with it.

If the band were to put out a similar product that was NOT available to US fans but only to int's fans... would you shut up? Would you take your words and complaints back?
