It's tongue and cheek meaning....... you should have seen them in the 80s and 90s to get the real feel of Bon Jovi at their best. A real rock band. No lazy Richie and Bad Jon vocals.

He seems to have always had a problem with Bon Jovi. In a concert around 2000 he told the crowd to put their lighters away because "This aint a ****in' Bon Jovi show" a few years later he was encouraging lighter waving at his own shows.

Wouldn't take the guy seriously at all, poison dwarf.

Jon looks better, sold more records and still sell more tickets.

Jon wins.

Green Day are on their way. 65 million worldwide, which is impressive considering this is the Digital Age. They've released two highly successful albums in a row, and the next 3 look just as promising.

Still sell more tickets - maybe, but not sure on this. Green Day SELLS OUT stadiums in Europe. Something Bon Jovi struggled to do the past 2 tours. They play and sell out the same arenas that Bon Jovi do in the states, only they don't have tickets sold behind the stage, which accounts for quite a bit of lost seats and profit.

And Green Day are much better than Bon Jovi live at this moment. Actually, Billy Joe being 40 years old right now, he is the same age as Jon during the Bounce tour. Compare the two tours, Green Day shows are ultimately better.

Green Day peaked in the mid 90s, before the "digital age".

21st Century Breakdown a highly successful album? It only went Platinum.

Green Day never groosed over $100 million.

Bon Jovi achieved it four times.

That's sad. A dude who can't sing anymore is bigger than him. No wonder why he hates Bon Jovi.

Billie Joe Armstrong is a sell-out wanker.

FWIW, Green Day did a wee bit of LOAP into a medley on their Jersey shows. Like a certain other frontman we know, BJA has a tendency to say things without thinking at times. As far as live shows go, Green Day are the only band I've ever seen who are on the same night in/night out level of Bruce and E Street.

Now, I know you are trolling, but I still feel like this needs to be corrected.

First of all, The Circle only went Gold in the States. It sold 3 million copies worldwide. 21st Century Breakdown sold over 4 million copies worldwide and went platinum in the states.

Sure, Bon Jovi have made more money. But that's because they charge (in some cases) 25 times the price as Bon Jovi. Tickets for their upcoming tour range from $35-$70 for top priced tickets. Bon Jovi? $2000 for top price (But you could take home your chair - OH MY!) and average $150 for tickets outside their exclusive pit and minimum 20 rows back.

Billy Joe has never been the best singer, but I'm not comparing vocals. I am comparing the fact that Billy Joe is ultimately the better front man. I've seen Bon Jovi live 16 times and Green Day live 3 times. Billy Joe is more or less the best front man I have seen as far as large scale rock bands go.

Tell me you're joking.
