I dunno about that, there have been some great performances over the years from all kinds of artists...including the acoustic performance by our band on the MTV awards back in 89. They've actually turned out several memorable performances.

The problem is since 2000, Bon Jovi hasn't turned out a truly worthy performance on an awards show. It's always business as usual. They played It's My Life way too many times on way too many awards shows. They didn't do anything that had people talking the next day. I won't count the first teaser performance of HAND on the AMA's.

If they were appearing on this year's AMA's they would just play WSYCGH, probably with Jennifer Nettles again. They wouldn't do anything surprising...like play Novocaine or I Am.

I guarantee you if they played either one of those with some conviction, they'd get the audience attention. I Am is just too catchy without trying too hard.

I totally agree on this, in 1995 they did some great promo (awards) performances with some tracks like Helter Skelter and stuff.

They just stick to the routine now.

Yeah, that's true. On the 1995 MTV Awards, they did Helter Skelter in Times Sqaure. That was great.

Since then, it's been same ole, same ole.

I guess it's like ponrauil said, they don't have to work for it any more. They sell a few million copies of each album and sell out stadiums regardless of the amount or quality of their promotion.

Remember that VH1 award show in 2000, I think, where they played It's My Life and had all these hot girls up on stage dancing around Jon? That was a bloody great performance and Jon has never looked cooler then he did that night. I remember he had the coolest suit on.

The VH1 show in 2002 when they played "Here Comes The Sun" as a tribute to George Harrison was brilliant too. Apart from those I'm stuggeling to think of anything special at an awards show past 2000.

well if they play ... dead or alive on award shows....i will love to see them.....the song is just made for bon jovi....the only to perform....this year... AMA sucked big time , the only thing was the rolling stones and santana's guitaring which got the awards a shape a bit....as the reviews said....overall everything went wrong way...with the BSB presenting an award...are they so big or vital to give away an award....surprising....mariah carey sucked at the awards too...lol
