I do think he does have some kind of physical problems now, I'm sure I read he needed a stick to help him walk but maybe that was just recoering after his accident. This was all after he was fired though, does anyone remember when he said he couldn't be arsed with recording anymore as Jon kept telling him he sucked but he'd still be touring with Bon Jovi. A few weeks later the adverts for the Crossroads tour came out and there were only 4 on the picture. It is a shame it's not the classic lineup anymore though, I thought Alec played a snappier Keep The Faith bass line. I suppose though if he wasn't up to it anymore he had to go. He's never really come out and slated anyone in the press though or sold his story to anybody so you've got to respect the guy for that.

Such took a fall off of his motor bike, "just like that, right in front of my door." The accident damaged a crucial muscle, which forced him to develop a whole new way to hold his instrument.
Look up Bon Jovi on wikipedia. Not saying its right but its where I seen it.

I remember reading that it had happened on that break before KTF.

Maybe, but he had one before KTF as well. Richie mentions it in Kerrang!-interview, in March 1992.

“Dave made a couple of appearances on my record as a songwriter,” Sambora says, “I tried to get him involved in the song writing for some time. He and Tico have been writing with Jon and I. Alec though, has just been trying to get himself together. He had a motorcycle accident and some bad fortune so he’s just kinda reworking himself. We’ve started demoing some of the new stuff and we should be in the studio by mid-March.”

Hi Dan,

Yes, it's Alec from Bon Jovi. The picture was taken in August of 2004.

Alec decided to get certified as a scuba diver and took classes with the dive shop I instruct for.

He is fine, and is a really great and funny guy. A few years back, he was injured in an accident (I think it may have been hit-and-run, but I'm not positive). He has some nagging aches and pains as a result, but he is still an active guy. He does not use a cane at all.

He's enjoying his retirement and says he does not miss the grueling schedule. He told me that he's about 10 years older than the rest of the guys in Bon Jovi, and the "rock star" life was getting to him at a time that the younger guys were still able to keep up the pace.

A really nice, down-to-earth person. Always upbeat, and always hilarious.

Regards,
Mike Sabanos
