Default Bon Jovi.com update

THE LATEST...
(Friday, February 4, 2005)

THE BIG IDEA WITH DONNY DEUTSCH
JON BON JOVI will be appearing on the CNBC show THE BIG IDEA with DONNY DEUTSCH tonight, Friday, FEBRUARY 4TH. It airs on CNBC at 10:00pm ET (with a repeat at 1:00am.) Jon JUST wrapped up taping the show at their northern New Jersey studios. Jon will be discussing general Bon Jovi background but much of the talk will be around football, particularly his involvement with the Philadelphia Soul (though we suspect he might be asked a few questions about the big game this Sunday.) It's a one hour program - expect Jon to be about 50% of it. For more information, visit www.cnbc.com

AN EVENING HONORING HERB RITTS
On Wednesday night, February 2nd, AmFAR and ACRIA hosted AN EVENING HONORING HERB RITTS at Sotheby's in New York City's Upper East Side. Dorothea and Jon Bon Jovi were Co-Chairs for the event. The event began with cocktails and a silent auction for artwork. Guests were then invited for a sitdown dinner. KENNETH COLE (the fashion designer and head of AmFar) gave introductory remarks. Following dinner RICHARD GERE, spoke about his longtime friendship with the late Ritts. INGRID SISCHY, editor of INTERVIEW Magazine, also spoke lovingly about her relationship with Ritts. Then, JON BON JOVI was introduced. Joined on guitar by BOBBY BANDIERA, keyboards by JEFF KAZEE and violin by LORENZA PONCE, Jon took the stage with an acoustic guitar himself. The quarter began their performance with a slower-tempo version of The Beatles 'HELP' (which in fact, featured an intro of 'Amazing Grace' on Lorenza's violin only.) The second song was 'IT'S HARD (LETTING YOU GOT)' from the 1995 Bon Jovi album 'These Days.' Very poignant. Jon spoke to the crowd about his and his wife's friendship with Herb Ritts and the family portraits he'd done. Finally, the performance ended with the slow, acoustic version of 'LIVIN' ON A PRAYER.' (Jon did a full soundcheck earlier in the evening with the musicians and they continued to work on the music up in a holding area prior to guests being let into the event.) The evening ended with a toast. It was a small, intimate evening attended by a small crowd of people who truly knew the man being honored. Images are available for viewing at www.wireimage.com and other syndicated photo service websites. Jon did extensive press on the red carpet - look for interviews on TV Entertainment programs and keep an eye out for photos in any entertainment/lifestyle magazines that regularly carry celebrity images. We can't predict where/when they might turn up.

TESTIMONIALS
Thus far, there are three batches of testimonials that have been added to this site. The testimonials had been submitted for inclusion in the box set; we saved them all and all we have will go up over time. If you submitted something and it hasn't been posted yet, please be patient... there are thousands upon thousands of testimonials that need to be converted to a format that can be displayed. Tnhis takes time... more are on their way. So keep reading, keep enjoying what your fellow Bon Jovi fans have to say and keep looking for yours.

FINALLY...
There are no details to share on the upcoming Bon Jovi album nor any touring plans. When there is information to share, it will be posted as news in a timely fashion.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Very uncharecteristic of Jon to pull out those songs. I hope it makes it to the next tours setlist.

I was at the benefit on Wednesday night since I work for Sotheby's. It was sooooo great hearing that song as I have never heard it live before. I was floored when I heard it during sound check as I would have never guessed it would have been in the set. Help sounded really good too.

I didn't realize that it was in the Crush set lists. It's a sad song but I love it.

Personally, I hate that song, but I'm glad you're all happy it was played. Too bad you guys didn't actually HEAR it.

As for those bonjovi.com news people, I wanna kick their asses rignt now. They get me all excited that there's gonna be some actual news and then they kick things off with f***ing football. Yeah, like we care. Then they say, "the news for the new album is... THERE IS NO NEWS!!!! YAY!!!!" Sorry, but I have to vent my anger. I'm really p!ssed.

Cool song, but to me it sounds like it was played due to the situation, and not because it's being brought back into setlists, but if Jon can sing it and sing it well then they may play it again.

No, yah I know. My point was that finally Jon pulled a song out that backs up his "always changes setlist" thing.

Its hard letting you go, isnt one of my fave Bon Jovi tracks from These Days, but hearing it live is still something special. I think its because its so rare that we do actually get to hear it live, that we appeciate all that little bit more. I certainly wouldnt complain if we heard that on the upcoming tour. However, as Neil says, I think Jon pulled that particular track out to coincide with the situation in hand.
