Default Bon Jovi Cover Songs

So, I have been listening to the cover that former Life Of Agony legend Mina (Keith) Caputo did for me of "Wanted Dead Or Alive (and might I add, it is bloody brilliant) and was just wondering what other Jovi covers are there out there? Not talking about your mate's brothers band who plays the local pub, but actual signed recording artists. I have the following off the top of my slightly inebriated head:
Atreyu - You Give Love A Bad name
The Slackers- Wanted
Hinder - Bed Of Roses
I also have "Covered Dead Or Alive" with Jani Lane, John Corabi etc.

Any other decent covers out there that I have missed?

There are loads of Bon Jovi covers. Just go on Spotify and look for "bon jovi cover" or similar. Not sure if they're "decent" or not, but there are loads.

Just on the top of my mind...

Northern Kings (a Nightwish 'spin-off') have a quite different version of Wanted.
A Black Metal band called Catamenia have a version of Born to Be My Baby
There is a live cover of Wanted done by this All Star band with Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum and Corey Taylor (edit: Camp Freddy is the name of the project)

Corey Taylor himself covered Wanted and Prayer several times actually
Melissa Etherdige covered Wanted several times
Opeth have covered Wanted (some may say it's a bit of a spoof though which I don't think it is)
Dream Theater have done a cover but I've only heard snippets of it
People like Nickelback or Daughtry have done covers of Wanted.

Edguy have covered Runaway
Edit: The Edguy one...so much fun, even if the chords are all messed up

A lof of smaller Black Metal bands have covered Runaway actually....Walhalla and Blind Stare are two that come to my mind. I guess the song lends itself quite naturally to black metal

Edit 2: Oh yes....I've seen the Gorillaz do some wicked cover of Bad Name in their live shows. Was lots of fun!

There's a lot more covers of Wanted by all kinds of people really...just proves that if there was one song only, it'd be the mighty Wanted Dead Or Alive.

It has nothing to do with Nightwish, other than Marco Hietala is one of the four singers. It's not a spin-off of anything, it's four Finnish heavy metal singers re-doing 80's hits as heavy metal versions.

Some of the versions are great, others not quite so... Wanted is one of the weaker ones.

I think Jon mentioned in earlier interviews how it was such a compliment for him as a musician that Elvis Costello covered Bad Medicine.

that's just bollocks though. Costello did the cover on a radio show saying basically that it's cheap-ass pop song but at least Jon is honest about it so that's ok. Jon just took it out of context, as he always does. Elvis Costello never really covered Bad Medicine.

Iceman - if someone is part of Company A, but then starts company B (even while he is still part of company A, and even if there are people from company C and D within this new company B) - well, in very simplistic terms, that's a spin-off. Now my perception of Hietala was that he was the leader of the Northern Kings (maybe because he's the singer on Wanted). Even if that was wrong, it still makes no difference. Northern Kings are a spin-off of Nightwish (or Sonata Arctica or whoever else is there). That statement is still accurate.

Costello did sing a piece of it on the air and I think he has played it live at least once, not sure though.

It's not. Whitesnake is not a spin-off of Deep Purple. Just like Dio isn't a spin-off of Black Sabbath. Or just like The Winery Dogs isn't a spin-off of Poison. Or Nightwish isn't a spin-off of Tarot. Your definition of spin-off is off. If it was Marco Hietala as a solo artist, you could call it spin-off, but even then that would be a stretch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spin-off

Your definition of spin-off isn't a spin-off, it's just starting a new company. A spin-off would require the people from company A to start company B by splitting company A and starting a new business, for example based on an old business unit of company A.

Northern Kings is a project band, "super group" if you will, not a spin-off. And if anyone is leading that group, it's J.Ahola. He's the one who's worked the most on the albums. And from what I've heard the producer, Erkka Korhonen, had a lot to do with the beginning of the whole concept, which BTW was early on called "Helldivo" or "Killdivo", a parody of Il Divo.

Bowling for Soup have covered Bad name:
Rata Blanca covered Como yo nadie te ha amado (plenty of people have actually, it's something of a mainstay in spanish speaking music now):
3 Doors Down have probably the most boring cover of wanted that's out there:
Also I know Coldplay have covered Prayer but I can't find a link to it on youtube....
