Default Bon Jovi Critics

Hey Guys

I have been coming on on this site alot in recent years and find it very unfair about the amount of stick that the band recieve at the hands of so called fans. Ok maybe we have the right to voice our opinions about the band but is it our place as fans to also dish out criticism?

For Instance

I Notice that Jons vocal problems keep coming up. Well to that i would say that Jon and the guys are my heros and as a singer also i would be doing cartwheels if i could sing that good now never mind in 20 years in a top rock band after god knows how many thousand concerts, I mean honestly could anybody in the world sound as good from when they were 20 and 40.

Well anyway just a thought i thought i would share let me know your thought to i would be glad to read them

Thanx for reading

I don't think that criticismis that bad really, as long as it's done objectively. There are endless amounts of threads about Jon's voice, I for one think that Jon still has a very good voice and is one of the best rock singers out there but when you do compare him to the these days shows you really can see that his voice has been damaged a bit. which is understandable. The other thing is the music direction, I for one liked Crush and Bounce (OWN and TLFR are another story) but many fans don't feel those albums are up to Bon Jovi's standards and they are entitled to think that. They are the heroes to a lot of fans, even the ones who might feel dissapointment.

If you admire everything about them with no questions asked, http://www.backstagejbj.com/ is a forum for you, not this one.

Yes, I believe it is our place as FANS to dish out criticism because we're the same group that's dishing out praise for what we love, and the same group who are buying the CDs and going to the shows. We are their consumers, their customers. While I agree with you that some of the criticisms are unfounded and really have nothing to do with the quality of the music the band makes, I also think fans are exactly the group the band should listen to when criticisms are made. Most of us are here because we love the music this band makes, but that doesn't mean we have to love everything they record or support every endeavor they make.

Exactly so Becky. We are all here (I assume) because we are fans. We are not here to accept anything and everything the band does without question.

Steven Tyler can sing aswell today as he could when he was 20. He's probably used far more drugs than Jon has too in the past.

I do critise that things aren't as good as they used to be but it's common with artitsts that they're best days lie early on in their careers. They grow up in a specific genre of music which is popular at the time and then the genre changes and there is no longer a market for the genre that they are in.

Another bullsh!t complaint is that Bounce is not a rock album/not rocky enough/whatever. I told this to a guy I work with and played it for him to demonstrate how moronic most people on internet message boards are. His exact words after were "What the hell are they complaining about?!"
