That's probably because he DID NOT audition for it. Just a rumor. It was such a rumor that it wound up getting Jon a caricature in Entertainment Weekly's Hot Sheet column, but there's no truth to it whatsoever. He also did not audition for Speed 2 which is another rumor that went around about the same time.
