Bon Jovi is a ROCK BAND!!!

Thrash Metal....that is headbanging music. They were not a headbanging band!!! LOL

I say they were Rock all the way.

Thrash Metal is for groups like Anthrax.

They were not hard enough to be any kind of metal. :P

I don't get this attitude. There is a lot of good pop music out there. Pop doesn't necessarily mean bad and rock doesn't necessarily mean good.

Its a good job I'm not a Die-hard Metallica fan

They r in fact credited with pioneering Thrash Metal. This is rock based on frenetic pure riffage & very energentic drumming.

There early stuff is pretty heavy!!

They become a Heavy Rock band with the Black Album. & lost alot of fans because of it apparently.

IMO songs like Mistery Train and such do not diminish Bon Jovi's status as a rock band. It's just Bon Jovi pushing limits of what they can do.

I think there is a difference between Rock and Rock & Roll. I know that Rock is just a short way of writing Rock & Roll, but IMO, there is a definite distinction.

When I hear Rock, I think of bands like Bon Jovi, Queen, Aerosmith, U2, bands like that. When I hear Rock & Roll, I think of people like Elvis and Chuck Berry; original Rock & Roll from the 50's/60's.

Okay, so let's just change a word : (rock to rock 'n' roll), do you think Elvis can't be in the "rock 'n' roll category" because lots of songs are not rock 'n' roll songs ? (i don't know if it's clear)
