They've written some excellent songs, so yes I feel they deserve the accolade.

I think they belong in both, especially when you look at some of the other artists who've been inducted.

No - I don't feel uncomfortable about this at all. I think they deserve to be where they are. I think far too many people over-analyze rock and roll. It's supposed to be FUN and I think these guys have written some fantastic rock songs over the years. For my money they deserve to be in for These Days alone - let alone the rest of their body of work.

There are far less deserving members of the R & R HOF in my opinion.

I feel they absolutely deserve to be in ....and in the RRHOF....

name me another band with as many recognizable hits and when you get to 20 lmk...

then remember all the songs and body of work that arent hits....

then remember all the songs they have given away....

then remember all the songs that were for soundtracks

then remember all the songs that have not been released but played

then remember all the songs that are still llocked down in some vault

then remember all the songs they are still writing....

quality + proliferation = SHOF

no brainer - just glad they didnt get overlooked - it is these kind of qulity awards like richie said in that interview - its like a guild award instead of a grammy - in some ways MORE credible

They absolutely deserve it ! You just can't judge only with the hits, they represent a minority of a band's work. You have to look at the whole work of the band, because what makes a good songwriter is the ability to write more great songs than a few hits, and in terms of quality and quantity, the guys just deserve it.

And for those who doubt, just look at the solo records from Jon and Richie, they write them themselves and they're wonderful. You can't tell Blaze Of Glory or Stranger In This Town aren't great in terms of songwriting.
