I really can't speak for the rest of the world, but from every show I've seen where the band are performing Prayer anywhere in the world, it's every bit as loud as it is in America. That doesn't mean a whole lot, but I would guess it's pretty well known.

Well it kind of is.. most casual pop music fans only know the choruses..which is what a chorus is for. It ''sells'' the song and makes it well known. To 'know' a song doesn't mean you have to know all the lyrics surely? I know plenty of The Beatles biggest tunes but aside from the choruses, I couldn't recall much else, except the fact that I like the tune..

So because the audiences at Bon Jovi shows know the chorus of Prayer, that makes it one of the top 10 best known songs.

It's my opinion that it is. It's your opinion that it's not. Fair enough.

Not everything boils down to opinion. Most random people in Europe would pick a ton of other songs to sing before they went for LOAP. It's popular, sure. But no way it is in the top 10 of the best known songs. It's My Life is more popular among young people, for starters.

Prayer is in the Top 25 karaoke songs according to this. Now you can stop arguing about something so trivial.

That's not correct since Alpha said so.

No way in top 10? I agree about It's My Life being more popular (I'd also add Always), but after that I'd definitely put Prayer.

What you're saying is how I'd describe the popularity of Wanted. It's a big US hit, and is only a hit in Europe nowadays due to band playing this song in every show and making a big deal out of it. A popular song? Sure. If it they stopped playing it 15 years ago, and it returned one day in an European show, it wouldn't get a recepation as good as, for example, This Ain't A Love Song.
