For the record and for everyone with a minor musical knowledge, Bon Jovi NEVER rocked hard to the degree of harder edged metal acts like Guns N Roses or even to some extent Motley Crue.
Bon Jovi have always been the bridge between pop and harder metal acts.Even in the eighties they were classed with the "soft" rock acts like poison. Harder bands like Guns were in a different catagory of rock in almost every respect. They never supscribed(publically anyway) to the grand excesses of girls booze n drugs like Guns n Motley did. Jon was always seen as the acceptable face of "rock music" that your mum would like.
Granted in recent years Jovi have been geared slightly more to the straight-up pop formula rather than radio friendly pop-metal of Slippery,NJ and the epic, slightly harder KTF but it must be pointed out that Bon Jovi never were, nor were they ever intened to be, a hard metal band. They have always been a "Top 40" band. If you dont like who Bon Jovi are simply listen to another "hardcore" metal band and stop wasting your time on Jon n Co's feelgood pop metal. The guys arent trying to kid anyone about who they are and i wish people would stop complaining about something they think the band should be about.

Just funny....I mean, find 3 POP-ROCK songs on BON JOVI and on 7800 and let's talk again.
What was your post about anyway? You copied something you read in a magazine? I'm not trying to kid myself but when I listen to Runaway, to In and Out Of Love, to Wanted Dead Or Alive, You Give Love A Bad Name, Let It Rock, Lay Your Hands on me or HOMEBOUND TRAIN...man, that's HARD ROCK for me and I don't care if a Motley Crue fan tells me it's not.
And you said something about Poison...
Brett Michaels:"You had Metallica who were different from Guns N' Roses who were different from Poison, but we all were Hard Rock or Heavy Metal"...that's just for the record.
I think I had this type of discussions before...the good part is that i just take it as it comes right now.
P.S.: Keep The Faith is heavier than any of the Illusion albums if you can say "heavier". Why is GnR so much more Metal than BJ? Only because of Apetite or what? As I said, take a listen to 7800 Degrees Fahrenheit.
