Lost Highway is sounding VERY good live. Ok, its not a hard song to sing but it fits Jons voice well. I might miss the violin and banjo sound when they play it on tour though, so i dont know how it will sound then. It should have been first single, or at least be the next single. The fact that its been done live on TV may be an indication that it may be a next single.

Someone was kind enough to post the link up in the youtube thread above, so check it out.

I dunno, the performance of LH seemed a bit weird to me ... Jon seemed to be the weak link, his voice suits the song yeah, especially during the bridge, but he didn't really seem to put much energy or effort into it, certainly less than the rest of the band ... and did he need to look quite so pissed off throughout the entire song?

Anyone know who the violinist is?

Your right about how Jon appeared to be acting, but i think this is may just be due to the fact that its a brand new song and hes probably concentrating on the lyrics. Or maybe he was just having a bad day, i dunno. It sounded good i thought, which is the main thing.

That performance of Lost Highway was dreadful, well Jon was abysmal, the rest were 10 out of 10. I thought Jon looked totally disinterested during IML but I thought it was just cause it was IML and he always looks and sounds bored on that one but it looked like he was doing a HughBot impression on this performance.

Mad how MAM could be so good and the others so crap.

However with a modicom of energy it could be great live.

I think you nailed it. I was excited that they were playing it live but I agree Jon was singing it with little feeling and did look PISSED the entire time.

Too bad though, it's a good song...

The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

The other songs were great, esp MAM. Its a new song, you would'nt think it would take much effort to be excited bout singing it live for the first time.

I think Jon's being overanalyzed. I just watched the performance and I agree with Andi, I think he was just trying not to mess up the words. He hasn't had a lot of practice singing this one. I thought it sounded really good.

I don't know that Jon was pissed off - he may have just been concentrating hard on the lyrics. Whatever it was, it was a no energy performance that was very flat. I think it has potential but that performance won't win them any fans.
