But isn't Universal doing it for the band on Facebook? I'd honestly rather them not be on FB at all if that's the kind of drivel that they say.

Fairly sure it's BJM/Matt - universal are much better at it than that. Look at Gaga for instance.

Oh, I see what you're saying now. I thought you were implying it was the band on FB, now I get it. Totally agreed. I'd say it's the fan club running the FB or whoever runs the store. Gross.

I sure do, and I sure don't worry about it.

Just as Madonna and her imitators couldn't have existed if MTV hadn't, Katy Perry and her imitators wouldn't exist if Twitter and Facebook didn't.

Generally speaking, BJ fans are older, wiser, have taste in music, and have better things to do with their time and money than invest them in becoming social media butterflies.

But the main reason why I don't worry about it because I seriously doubt that Katy Perry will have more than half a million online fans thirty years from now.

Seriously now... Why you care so much about FB likes and follows on Twitter? Does it really matter? Bon Jovi are on the business almost 3 Decades now and some "likes" on FB won't ever change that, Katy Perry or however is her name will loose her popularity in next 5-7 years. Bon Jovi are legends, they don't need likes or tweets to prove that. She got more likes cause the most users of FB are near 12-17 year old kids. People who were born in 90s and growing in 00s music mostly listen to this crappy pop music and such artists like Katy Perry, Bieber bla bla bla. Few young people left who still listen to the real music. Although many kids are saying that they listen to Bon Jovi just because they are listening "It's My Life" come on who are they kidding? Or they listen to Bon Jovi cause JBJ is sexy. Seriously now! Bon Jovi is a band and not only Jon. Hard to deal with it young ladies but the real fans can recognize that. And as someone mentioned before, Bon Jovi got older fans who might not use FB/Twitter and such social networks...

Richie seems to have woken up to the fact that Twitter exists but Jon won't have any part of it.
I don't want him to be one of these sad celebrities that feels the need to share with us his every move, but just the occasional message would be nice.

I thought the note on Facebook was nice. It reminded me of the old letters in the Backstage Fanzines. The video clips are nice on Facebook, too. Other artists are doing that. BJTV is fun to watch during tour time.

I don't use Twitter. Don't have time.

I can vouch for this. I'm 16 now and almost everyone around me listens to this new pop garbage. It's always "OH DUDE did you hear the new LMFAO song? Let me play it off my new iPhone 4S and we'll have a dance party in the corner!11!!1!1!!"

Everyone knows me as "that Bon Jovi kid" around school and some people come up to me and say "Oh I love Bon Jovi so much! I like his one song..... We're Halfway There! Oh, and Shot Through The Heart!" Though, I've never heard anyone my age listen to Jon because they think he's sexy, so that's a new one.

I'm definitely sure I don't know you. I guess I could say I'm "proud" of it, it's quite a conversation piece sometimes given all the stories I've accumulated.
