Well... It doesn't bother me at all (or surprise me!) Jovi doing corporate gigs, but it is always nice to encounter an artist who puts the quality of their output above the money they earn. They just make BETTER music. They just do.

(yes, yes, it's all subjective, but for the sake of argument assume I'm defining "good" as "adds something to the sum of human understanding", "possesses beauty or excitement in a more-or-less unequivacle measure", "develops the art form")

And it's always good to find an artist who has SOME principles, even if its Michael Macintyre - http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/...5875-21875927/

This is irrelevant to the question as to whether corporate gigs are a good or bad thing.

Why do people get so upset at BJ playing a private party??? I mean if you could go out, play for an hour and make a million dollars which will no doubt end up in the guys various charitable endevours, then I don't see what the problem could be. They are a professional band, entertaining is what they do. I know bands that would "kill' to be able to play parties like this.

Is nothing sacred anymore?

I dunno, y'all can all stick up for this kind of activity but it makes my skin crawl.

Say you were in a band, with a loyal fan base. And while you were not touring, or doing anything at all, except a few promotional gigs, and you were offered a million bucks to come play a gig for an hour or so, you wouldn't do it? Its not like they are getting warn down for a gig the night after, or getting tired from this. If anything, they can use this to get back in shape.
