It's probably one of those songs just like I'd Die For You,which started out totally different ''Take me Home'' and then slowly morphed into I'd Die For You with some alternate lyrics and after that there was a final version.
This song sounds pretty much like a basement demo,so probably after some time when Jon got in the studio he made some modifications with the lyrics and it slowly turned into Staring At Your Window.

I've read it a few times in certain interviews from that era and I gotta check if there's an audio recording of the show. But I've never seen any video footage anywhere - if it actually happened it puzzles me why it wasn't included on the AAA video?!
