hehe.... Actually, I'm from Europe myself, only been in the US since 1998. Maybe that's why I can't relate to this country music stuff they've been wasting their time with.

I went to see them in London in 1995, I remember how well These Days did around Europe, I was living in Germany at the time. It sold about 25mil worldwide. But I guess later on Jon revealed how he was dissapointed that it didn't do that well in the US. Wake up Jonny, it was the time of Grunge!

That was their best album...

i love lost highways, played it to a few of my non bon jovi fan friends and even they said they liked that one, one even put it on repeat!

the album is shaping up nicely IMO, i think it could be a very dark horse in the album sales.

But it just sounds (from the promo stuff that i've heard so far that they've got a collection of songs and not really an "album"

i mean how many times in the past have they put a song on an album thats already been used on a soundtrack (usually because it doesn't go with the feel of the album)

and We got it goin on (i admit i've only heard it with the sound effects), well i can't really imagine that on an album alongside MAM and I love this town, they just don't really go together do they ?

maye they don't have enough songs to make an album, but scared if they don't release sumfin people will forget who they are, or maybe they worte these songs so far apart that they don't have the same feel
No one listens to albums anymore, it's the ipod generation. People just stick the songs they like on their ipod and never listen to the cd in it's entirety ever again. It's incredibly sad but that's the reality of the market these days, so many bands just having 3 or 4 decent songs on an album and the rest just dirge.

There are some bands who still make proper albums like Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater etc and their fans obsess over the messages behind the songs and whether songs are connected etc. They actually listen to the whole album over and over as there is some depth there. Bon Jovi don't fall into this category any more, just releasing collections of songs trying to hit every market they possibly can.

I disagree on two points:
First off, I think thats a tad of an overgeneralization o say anyone with an iPOD doesen't listen to whole albums.

But mainly, I don't think Bon Jovi does that. I happen to think HAND has some really deep album tracks (LMS, Novacaine, Bells of Freedom, Story of My Life) I you don't ike them, that's cool. But I don't think it's fair to say that they only put work into three or four singles.

Dude... What the heck is an iPod???

Just kiddin!

I still like to listen to whole albums, as long as it's a good album.

For instance, both of The Killers albums are something I can listen all the way through, The Raconteurs debut album is the same, AFI's "Sing the Sorrow" or their older stuff is really good, Bullet for my Valentine's "The Poison"...

But then there's stuff like Avenged Sevenfold's "City of Evil" that has 11 tracks and I REALLY like 4 of them but can't stand the other 7. Weird!

The last Jovi album that I can listen all the way through would be "These Days". I can also do that with Jon's "Destination" except for that song "Naked". That one never grew on me.
