If that is the case then he/they are right to sue. If something is trademarked, you cannot legally use the same logo or anything that is similar to it.

So what about Jon Bovi - their website is just a copy of old bonjovi.com. And they've used the 'Heart and Dagger' logo. And the name Jon Bovi is even more in vains of Bon Jovi than Blond Jovi...

I'm pretty sure every single Bon Jovi tribute band uses Bon Jovi logos and fonts, and many of them have "Jovi" in their name. And it's not like Jon was unaware of the existence of tribute bands before.

So why has this one been singled out?

Nowdays everyone tries to find something bad to say about Bon Jovi. Lets face it, if this whole situation was about Rolling Stones or Bruce it wouldn't be as big topic as with Jovi... Though I have to admit that Jon can be a real cockhead.

I think it would be just as big if it was one of those bands instead. An original artist suing a tribute act is a pretty shocking and malicious thing to do and it is always gonna create friction no matter who the original artist is.
