I don't want to get into this argument. But I'd like to know who came up with the rules of what makes someone an "average fan", and what makes someone a "die hard" It's interesting actually, I was thinking the other day about making a thread asking people on here what their opinion is of the difference. I really don't see how how many shows you go to determine how big of a fan you are. Not everybody is able to go to 20 shows a tour. To then label them an "average fan" just because of that is pretty ludicrous really. I would give my soul (well) to have been able to tour around seeing Bon Jovi, but that's been impossible for me. Yet they are a big part of my life, and have been for years. And yes, THEY, not just Jon before some smartass try and pull that one yet again. I'm not getting at anyone personally either.

As usual with this board, people either don't understand, don't bother reading the entire thread or just don't comprehend what they read. This is not meant to be nasty but for Jade and everyone else who deosn't understand it, go back and re-read the posts I have quoted.

It is the bands' job to please their audiences both diehards AND casual/average fans. They are clearly not pleasing their diehards by playing the same thing time after time. They are not pleasing the average fan either because while they don't go to as many shows as the diehards, there are some that still come to see a show or two every tour. When they don't come because they feel that they have already seen the show the previous tour, that's a problem. In reality, most of the time Bon Jovi is only pleasing the average fan who is seeing them for the first time.

Jeeper suggesting that the diehards only go to one show a tour is insane on so many levels that I don't even know where to start. This is essentially what Seb said in his post.

This conversation is and was never about the diehard that only made it to one show this past tour for whatever reason--there's a difference.

As insane as going to lots of shows, becoming increasingly disheartened by the repetitive set lists and subsequently spending time moaning about what, after all, should be an enjoyable experience???

The point i was making was i find it hard to understand why anyone would want to 'water down' the enjoyment of seeing a band live. If you go to multiple shows and come away feeling let down, and know the next gig will leave you feeling the same way, why do it? To show you support the band? I understand the sentiment, but i would rather go to the 2 or 3 gigs per tour that i do, and come away feeling great.

I hope you can see my point even if you don't agree. And if i promise not to ever call you an idiot, will you in return not call me a c*nt like our good friend Seb did??
