Default Bon Jovi To Be Inducted Into The Uk Hall Of Fame

Cant see that this has been posted anywhere on here yet:

Following is the official press release that went out from the UK this morning; folllowing their original release, we are please to post the news here at the Official Bon Jovi website:

UK MUSIC HALL OF FAME 2006

Bon Jovi and James Brown in line for Britain’s music honours list

Legends of rock and soul to perform live at Alexandra Palace

Channel 4 and Initial today revealed that Bon Jovi and James Brown will be inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame this year and will perform live at the event on 14th November.

There are few acts in the world that can deliver stadium shows of massive proportions, release continuous hit albums and solicit an entire new generation of fans 23 years into their career. Bon Jovi is that band.

Bon Jovi are responsible for some of the most recognizable hits of the past 20 years, including "It’s My Life", "Livin' on a Prayer", "Wanted Dead or Alive” and their most recent number 1 “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.” They have sold over one hundred million albums around the world, performed more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 32 million people. Following the success of their ninth hit album, the band has never been as popular and shows no sign of slowing down.

“The Godfather of Soul”, James Brown is considered by many to be the most legendary living artist on the planet. With hits including “Papa’s Got a brand new bag”, “Get Up (Sex Machine)”, "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" and “I Feel Good (I Got You)” he is the most sampled musician in history. Still touring into his seventies, he’s certainly living up to his other moniker as, “The hardest working man in showbusiness”.

Alongside James Brown and Bon Jovi, the show will also see one of the hottest new talents in the UK, singer-songwriter James Morrison performing a tribute to inductee Rod Stewart. The line up will also include Brian Wilson and his band performing live; British soul sensation Joss Stone and R&B legend Patti LaBelle performing two of Dusty Springfield’s greatest hits and rock’s latest stars, Wolfmother performing a tribute to Led Zeppelin.

Now in its third year, The UK Music Hall of Fame 2006 Induction Ceremony will for the second year running be staged at London’s Alexandra Palace, hosted by Dermot O’Leary. The event will take place on Tuesday 14th November and will be transmitted on Channel 4 on 16th November and on VH1 in the USA on 25th November. Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe will be presenting his show live from the event on 14th November between 10.00pm-12.00midnight.

Inductees announced so far for this year’s event are Brian Wilson, Dusty Springfield, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart and now Bon Jovi and James Brown.

These six will join Sir George Martin who is receiving this year's Honorary Membership in recognition of his exceptional contribution to British music.

Since its launch in 2004, the UK Music Hall of Fame has inducted 20 of the greatest names in music history including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Bob Dylan, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, U2, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley and The Kinks.

Artists are selected for induction by the UK Music Hall of Fame Steering Group - a panel comprising over 60 respected artists, music journalists, broadcasters and music industry executives.

Tickets for the UK Music Hall of Fame 2006 are now on sale (see below) and further details of performances and inductees will be announced in due course.

UK Music Hall of Fame is an Initial production for Channel 4 Initial is part of Endemol UK

For VIP tickets to the UK Music Hall Of Fame at Alexandra palace on 14th November please call: 0845 602 8934 or log on to www.keithprowse.co.uk.

Jon always said Alec would be the bass player to join the band when they make the R&R Hall Of Fame. I wonder if he'll be there and perform with the guys for the UK HoF...

That's great news!

I hope they take the opportunity of seeing George Martin again to kidnap him, take him into the studio, and have him produce another song.

One can only dream. That would be insane.

And I assume Jon meant the american rock and roll hall of fame. When he first said the quote, this one wasn't even around.
