Jon's voice was very dull. Have A Nice Day was a very boring song on that show. Not good promo for those who haven't already heard it.

They also played IML but they didn't show it.

The performance was pretty good. Jon sounded great during the verses but he certainly could've sung the chorus a bit stronger. He sounded good though, better then live8 I thought. Richie's guitar didn't seem loud enough to me. Some nice moves from Jon too. I'd give it 8/10.

Lose the eyeliner Richie!

Agreed! Not a good look. I thought Jon sounded ok, but the sound overall was pretty weak - guitar and backing vocals were way too quiet.

Cool

The mix didn't sound right to me. It was all vocals and drums and no guitar!
I'm a bit pissed that they didn't even show the band receiving the award!

The band has a right to be proud of this accomplishment, and why not get the free publicity for the new record while your at it??
I think the band thinks awards are fine a fun night out a chance to see people you don't see all the time etc...
Plus for this band who has defied the critics and sometimes the industry itself by continuing to be so successful I imagine there's a bit of jersey in your face This is sweet pride going on in BJ world these days.

Remember they didn't politic for these last two awards they were bestowed on them by others. What are they supposed to do Not show up???
Exactly. Don't take everything so literally, but of course it gives Seb another reason to slag off Jon!

I watched it to this evening, first time BBC2 has shown the word music awards, its usually on channel 3/4 . I was shocked it was cut to an hour. It was suppose to be Destiny Childs last performance and they didnt even show that. Alanis Morrisette sound was dreadful..... In general it was the worst ever world awards show.

I also think it was the worst performance of HAND I heard yet, Jon's vocal was weak, was really shocked. maybe he had a sore throat of something. He was really over acting kept bopping away from the mike . Richie wore way to much eyeliner.... I preferred watching/listening to Kid Rock and I hate Kid Rock.

That was the first performance of the show

I agree though that it was the worst performance of the song yet. I didn't think Jon was really into it, and I think Richie even ****ed up right at the start. And who was the extra guitarist playing and singing next to Hugh?

just saw it today.

i won't pass too much judgement because the mix was absolutely attrocious n i'm not entirely sure it was the bands crews fault because other acts io saw snippets off were the same.

Yes, I heard Alanis sound was pretty bad too. I've seen the guys perform HAND live twice, Milwaukee and Soaring Eagle (Michigan) and both times the song sounded great musically and vocally. We won't get the show in the US until 9/13 but at least we should get the entire performance and the acceptance speech for the award.
