The song all of the band named they didn't like and wouldn't play was, In And Out Of Love. Jon said, "I know fans have asked us to play it but that's why you have the record and Karaoke". Good time overall!!
Did Jon say why they won't play In And Out Of Love?

Yes, in an interview about 2 months ago. He mentioned that song specifically.

This makes me wonder how much artistic freedom these guys have as of late with some relatively lower sales...or maybe I am just looking for someone else to blame for the band seemingly climbing further down the shithole...

It's funny that they "all" don't wanna play In And Out of Love because Richie seemed down to play it at the O2 and I remember someone reporting here that it was soundchecked...maybe in Hawaii?

I don't want to absolve the band, but there's certain things lately that I think are record company mandated. I don't think it's a coincidence that the first single off the GH was a "new song" that harkened to the soft Pop-Rock/Country mix of Lost Highway, even though it had been previously confirmed that there were songs from The Circle sessions set to be the GH songs. And now after hearing the other new tracks, and their Circle vibe, I believe even more that their as pressure to record a new lead single using the more "successful" formula.

The record label wanted a GH last year but Bon Jovi had "too much to write about" and recorded The Circle. I don't think the record label was too happy there, and the success it didn't have added insult to injury. I would imagine that the band (or Jon) would've rather put out a new studio album probably in 2011 and not abandoned The Circle so early.

I also have heard that the band was gonna take a break from touring after the LH Tour, which probably would've happened had they released a GH last November instead of this. So maybe Jon and the guys (and Jon) just need a break. Maybe take off a couple years after The Circle Tour ends, have Jon do some acting, Richie do some solo-ing, Tico do some painting, and Dave do some play writing. And when they come back, hungry to do more music together, they would with a bang.

I agree Brian.

JBJ has been very down on record company in the past few mths... and they appear to be churning our albums fast.... I wonder if they want to art ways with the record company and move on....

Must be an awful time for In & Out Of Love lovers! That is a kickass song.

Their record contract just got renewed a little before the release of The Circle. Jon has often praised the record company for letting them make Lost Highway, but since nowadays trend is to blame record companies for records not doing well it's obviously another bandwagon they should jump on, instead of promoting an album decently with interviews and promo shows all across the world.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

I think you've got it bang on. Not only that, I wonder if John Shanks's days are numbered with the band. They tend to jump ship with repeat producers once something flops, hence the change in producer for the new single.
