Default Bon Jovi tribute - Bad Medicine NY

Has anybody seen these guys? How good are they and do they play the holy ITA in their live show?

According to David Bryan they are "the most ass kicking Bon Jovi tribute band in the world."

I've seen them a few times. I personally am not really into tribute bands, they kind of creep me out. But as tributes go I suppose they're pretty good. The singer tries too hard to look/act like Jon but I guess that's the point.

And it's been awhile so I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they did NOT play ITA when I saw them.

I have avoided them for the same reason Sarah - tribute bands kind of creep me out too. I see that they are scheduled around here fairly frequently so they must be pretty good.

Yeah I think they're pretty much known as the best around here. Hugh has played with them and Jon hired them to play at some event - a party for the football team I think?

Well...judge for yourselves

personally, I thought "Richie" was okay..but didn't try to look like him. "Jon" has a nice voice, but doesn't really sound like the real thing at all.

I've seen them a few times. Steve Sage, aka Jon, I agree does try to mimic Jon too much in my opinion, a nice guy but yea it can get a little much in my opinion. Now, Steve F, aka Richie, is VERY good. He doesn't try to mimic Richie as far as looks or moves. Steve F. has toured with Bret Michaels.

I remember an interview with Richie where he says that they don't even come close to Kon Chauvi from Germany....that's all I know :P

I think it is sad that he uses the exact same words before YGLABN as Jon on One Last Wild Night Giants 2001...

Yeah, I agree. It's a toughy though - you're s'posed to be a tribute band so therefore the idea is to get as close to the real thing as possible but to use the same script? Should there be a line drawn at this or is it a part of the show? Should trib bands make up their own Jon-esque phrases and banter or use the time-old real Jovi script for gigs?

It'd be interesting to see what peeps' opinions are on this as we have been tempted to throw in the Dry County pre-solo speech from the DC single (the one about mirrors and coffee!) when we play it but don't know how well it'd go down with a knowledgeable audience who recognise where it's from.
