Why should anyone have to divulge stories of their personal lives? I, for one, wouldn't buy such a book if it was published because to me Bon Jovi are a band who happen to make music that I enjoy - I couldn't give a shit about their personal lives.

Why would it cost them sales if the book would be published? I don't think so.

Far play to them for keeping their personal lives to themselves. They're one of very few bands that seem to keep themselves out of this sort of thing and I respect that.

I just feel it may turn-off certain fans who like their supposed clean-cut image.

See, I still don't really understand that point of view ... considering how much time I spend on a messageboard devoted to this band, I don't think its at all weird that I'd find hearing about what the life behind the music is like. Can help understand the context behind some of the songs too

I guess we wouldn't have read something new anyway. Jon never talked about privacy and internal band stuff. The book would be very censored. And we all know the band history already.

One million is peanuts. Split by 4 would make 250 000. What's that for a member of Bon Jovi? The amount they make for playing 10 minutes?? Give me a break, woulkd the offer be something around 100 million (how much was Becks payed for his biograpyh?) I am sure Jon and Richie and the rest of th eband would have thought about it twice before saying no! Would've saved them some sill concerts in places nobody ever heard of such as Hull...

I think they did the right thing for them. While it would be cool to know what was going on "inside" the band when certain songs were written , we all know that isn't what the publishers were after. And those things really are no ones business and they affect more people than just Jon , Richie, Dave or Tico.

I think it's good on the band for giving back the money and saying no.
