the promo is terrible for Bon Jovi over here - they are nowdoing interviews over here for an album that was released nearly 6 months ago - how wrong is that.
I used to work for Universal/Mercury so I know how bad the promo for Jovi is.
They know that the album sales are dwinderling (whose aint?) but also know they will make thier money on touring - BJ are only a handful of bands who sell out stadiums in a minute (as per twickenham!!).
Also why is it when the average U2 release an album - its everywhere - you cant go anywhere without knowing they (U2) have an album out - yet when it comes to Jovi people are finding out 6 months later. Yes the hard core know the album is out but maybe some people who like some of their stuff dont.
I think Jovi need to sack the promo guy at the label and get someone new in

it is really a shame their timing for release and choice of single was so wrong, then it always seem to be here in UK. I think if Stranger was released it would have been No 1.

Perhaps due to X factor type shows always getting no one spot at xmas they thought what is the point. Anyway , in this morning interview they were also promoting Lost highway concert/album.

In all fairness though the TLFR dvd was a lot better than the CD, and so is the Lost Highway one.

And why should I shut up? If you're telling me what to do here by saying I should stop moaning, I am just as justified to tell you to shut up.

So yeah, shut up, suckah.

Like I said in the other thread, it was probably a combination of things: the fact that there was basically **** all promo, even to the extent that virtually none of us even knew when the single was coming out til like a few days before, and I've not seen the video on TV once; the fact it was supposed to be out earlier and was delayed for whatever reason; the fact that its not a particularly good song (IMO), and is far too much of a cliched Jovi track (its basically SIBSN mixed with WSYCGH); the fact that it's been released 5 or 6 months after the first single (which is utterly ridiculous); and the fact that this whole "nu-country" thing hasn't really taken off in the UK (yet, it's probably only a matter of time though)

I also still reckon that single sales are the least important way to guage the bands popularity over here ... album sales and ticket sales are far more important.

The UK singles chart is a mess anyway....not worried too much by it. The band will be judged on their album sales, which addmitidly arnt fantasic but I think LH still made no 2.

thing is jon says when they are a nostalga act he will give up. the question is are they a nostalga act now (in the uk)?
if you look at the album sales (after crush and upwards) the ticket sales are far more than album sales.
no album in the uk since crush has sold more than 200,000 - 2 nights at milton keynes alone are 130,000 tickets and thats without the other stadiums on the tour.
I also notice the old songs are far better received by the crowd than anything new.
That said - i think they should open the UK shows with "We got it going on"
