But how many of those are like, super amazing? In fact, a couple of them are among the worst in the Bon Jovi catalogue. I know Jon is a better songwriter than Richie though, I'm not denying that. I just seem to prefer the songs that Richie had a hand in. "Dry County" is about the only one Jon wrote alone that I would put above everything else.

Even before I know the songwriting credits I have always gravitated to the songs Jon has written by himself, in most cases. MAM is actually one of my favorite Jon and Richie songs.

I disagree with you but I tend to like the Jon songs that others think are crap like Save The World and Wildflower. And then there's DA, which I think is a lyrical masterpiece.

On the Oasis vs. Bon Jovi topic, I love both bands, but they're in different leagues. Oasis is HUGE in England. Bon Jovi is HUGE worldwide. Bon Jovi is universal.

As for the Richie vs. Jon discussion, I'll put my opinion as such. Collaboritvely, they're outstanding. We know that. Richie by himself, lyrically, he's OK. But that's it. Jon by himself - Blaze of Glory is one of the best soundtracks ever - Period. Destination Anywhere was as solid a solo album by a frontman of a group the size of Bon Jovi you will ever hear.

Ok I'll continue on the other topic I answered relating to my trips to USA. In 97 we had both Bon Jovi and Oasis in the car whilst driving around New Mexico and Arizona and we love both bands!! but if we had to choose it would have to be Bon Jovi, just because they're closer to our hearts.
I actually saw Oasis live in Stockholm in 2002 (I think it was) and it was a fantastic show!! I believe Liam outdid himself that night and we got something extraordinary.
But they are quite different musically and shouldn't really be compared at all.
