It's really only 2000-onwards where there are so many should-have-beens,

Captain Crash (given how often its played live), Undivided and Bounce for sure, Last Man Standing and god knows what from Lost Highway

I think overall, they selected their singles quite well. The only big miss is in my opinion UNDIVIDED which, if promoted with a good video, could have changed the image of the band radically.

As do I.
In he grand scheme of things, they haven't released many "bad" singles, but I do think a song like Undivided, or to go back farther Damned could've been successful singles.

I agree. Jon's pretty clueless when it comes to choosing singles. As for biggest misses:

I'd Die For You
Edge of a Broken Heart
Wild Is The Wind
I Believe (never released in US)
The Distance
Story Of My Life

Captain Crash (not a big fan of the song but I reckon it was catchy enough to be a hit)
Wild is the Wind
Undivided
Story of my life
Last man standing (maybe)

I'll say Blood on Blood. Not just because it's a great song but they were at the height of their popularity in the NJ era (at least in the US), and with the other 5 singles released from NJ making the top 10 on billboard, you'd expect BOB to have done well too.

Speaking for the US here and just going to do post 2000 songs:

Say It Isn't So
Just Older
The Distance
I Am
Story Of My Life

And I actually think AOD will still be released as a single (even if Jon doesn't like the song) since the tour is going to run into the late summer.

Bounce, even how bad the album is its the NR UNO as far as missed singles concerned

Undivided
The Distance
Bounce (worldwide, proper single)
Hook me up

Easily better then everyday/misunderstood/all about crapping you

They did a good job up untill crush, its untill then Jon didn't decide alone and since Crush he did, not saying that is the case but if you look at the singles its like that.

I'm torn on BOB, no doubt its one of the best songs theyve wrote and hugely underated. Just think it works better as an album track
