As far as I know Summertime was never officially released as a single. Like you said, CHUM, just decided to play it on their own.

It's not just one radio station in Canada that played it...

One Wild Night was released as a single in the US - It tanked. Not sure about the rest of the world.

One Wild Night was never released as a single in the US. It was a very big hit in the rest of the world though, but no singles were handed out to radio stations in the USA. And I haven't got a clue why though.

I don't agree, most of those IMO were single potential. In what way do you think those except for Novocaine aren't?
They are all cathy, somehow commercial, for example The Distance is just if not more radio-friendly then Everyday.

Are you sure about that? I know the video was played on VH-1. I swear I remember hearing it on the radio a couple times as well.

That's one of those songs that would do well in Europe, but tank in the US. I love this country, but musically, we can't tell our ass from our elbows.

I can't really describe it. They just don't have what it takes to be a Bon Jovi single. It's My Life had it, Everyday had it, Undivided had it, Just Older has it, but the songs mentioned right there simply don't. Yes, some of them are good, but they don't have it. Say It Isn't So doesn't have it either, yet it was released, and it tanked.

Everyday only faired well because of the succes of It's My Life, it being the first single of Bounce and the major promotion campaign that was set up for it. If it'd been released as the second single it would've went nowhere. The best song from Bounce is the title track, and had they released that one, it'd been a hit. It has hit written all over it, even with it's terrible lyrics.

The Distance would've tanked. Creed was only able to get 2 songs from them in the charts, and although I know many people like The Distance, it's a direct rip off from their sound, and sounds a lot like With Arms Wide Open. People had enough of Creed after 2 songs, that never made it into the top 10 in the first place, so they didn't really need Bon Jovi to do it again. It's thé song from Bounce that is terribly overrated here.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
