Default Bon Jovi's most popular songs..according to youtube

Only mildly interesting I guess, but a few surprises. Especially that IML is by far the most viewed song online by the band at a whopping 114million+ views! I don't know if it's just an internet younger generation thing, or if indeed IML could be considered 'bigger' than Prayer, which I doubt, but interesting nonetheless.

No fancy graphy thing, but here's some figures; All are approx, as there are obviously duplicates of the videos, but those view counts only number in the thousands and so don't change the picture that much as a whole.

1. Its my life 114million views
2. Always 61m
3. Prayer 59.5m
4. Bad Name 37m
5. Ill be there for you 29m
6. Bed of roses 26m
7.Dead or alive 24m
8. Thank you for loving me 20m
9. HAND 19m
10. Runaway 17m

and surprisingly/worryingly
Hallelujah at 12m views?!

The likes of KTF and all the These Days singles (bar TAALS) are predictably disappointingly low in the list - there are even covers by people in their bedrooms ranking higher than many of the bands 'hit singles'.

And 'Who Says you cant go home' is around the 5million mark, hardly the worldwide smash Jon seems to think it is.

HAND and Born to follow also got decent viewing counts, beating a lot of the older stuff like ITA, Bad Mx etc... so I guess stats like this could be useful in that other thread as a defence in ''the nostalgia argument''.

Not really surprising. Prayer has been around since 1986 and the video has been readily available on so many different VHS and DVD compilations over the years. Off hand, I don't know of any official releases that included the video for It's My Life.

There will never be any question in my mind as to what their most popular and biggest song is. It's Livin' On A Prayer.

I only have about 120 friends on Facebook, but I posed this question to get a general idea:

"OK, favor to ask of my Facebook friends. Conducting a survey of non die hard Bon Jovi fans for a fan site. What would you consider their biggest hit? What song, love it or hate it, do you know as soon as you hear it, know the words to, and/or think of if someone asked you to name a Bon Jovi song."

I'll keep the tally here as it progresses (if it does). Maybe others could do the same thing.

Prayer - 5
Wanted - 1
Bad Name - 1

I'm afraid that if I did the same thing, it would be close call between Misunderstood and Always.

Thank You For Loving Me was a hit here in Argentina, it was all the time on MTV also. This shows that is a song that deserves to be played.

You can also use last.fm and Spotify to check the "hits". last.fm show you the most played songs of the last week or last 6 months, Spotify does the same with the last week:

Well, Misunderstood was huge here and is a poppy song, my friends would like to troll me. And Always was their best selling single, and is a huge song here too.

Also, Brazilians tend to like ballads, so I can see I'll Be There For You and Thank You For Loving Me there too.

Just a question, is this only measuring the views of the videos officially posted by Bon Jovi/Universal or all uploads?

This is what my Spotify shows:

I also asked my firends on Facebook to name the Bon Jovi song they associate with the band. So far two LOAP's, one LYHOM and Right Side Of Wrong... :P
