Borderline

Does anybody know anything about the background of the song? I understand it was written and recorded for SWW but never made the album (altough it was released as a maxi single in Japan). Maybe they turned it down once they had started writing with Desmond? It´s obvious they would have never topped the U.S. charts with Borderline as they did with Bad Name...
