Bounce #2 at Finnish charts. :(

I´m disappointed . And The King wasn´t even on the charts so they lose to Zen Cafe. I hope they´ll rise back up next week.

But #2 is not bad at all!! It's a shame they released the album the same week as Elvis, because I think that they'll have very few numbers 1 (if any...).It's not fair,because Crush was #1 almost everywhere and,in my opinion, Bounce is much better than Crush...

Yeah, I know it ain´t that bad but since Crush went straight into #1 I´m kinda suprised. Bounce is much better than Crush so I think it would be weird if it wouldn´t sell as much as Crush did. Though Bounce hasn´t got ”It´s my life” in it, you know what I´m saying? If there wasn´t for IML, Crush wouldn´t have sold nearly as much as it did. And Bounce lacks that special song. They should have released ”Bounce” or ”Undivided” as the first single since IMO these have much more hit potential than ”Everyday”. These two songs could have carried Bounce like IML did with Crush.

I'm disappointed too, it's such a shame that our guys didn't make it to No. 1.

I can't remember how it was with KTF and with the 80s albums, but at least both These Days and Crush went straight to No 1 on their first week on the Official Finnish Top 40...so I guess I kinda assumed that Bounce would do the same.

I have to say, though, that I would have been even more disappointed if Bon Jovi had lost the No. 1 spot to some other non-Finnish band or act (excluding Elvis cause he's The King). Listening to Finnish music and Finnish bands has been VERY hip and cool and trendy in Finland in the past few years, and Zen Cafe (the band to which Bon Jovi lost the No. 1 spot) has been among the lucky bands to benefit from this rather patriotic fashion in popular music. It wasn't all that many years ago when Zen Cafe was considered almost an "undergound" band and they were playing at this one university party at my university. But with the international success of various Finnish goth & metal bands (HIM, The 69 Eyes, Nightwish and Stratovarius, to name but a few), it suddenly became "the thing to do" over here to listen to domestic music and domestic bands...and that's when the masses found Zen Cafe as well. Now their albums are going gold and platinum and their gigs are sold out wherever they go. So in that sense, if Bon Jovi had lost the No. 1 spot to someone like Eminem or whoever, it would've been even more disappointing than seeing them lose the Top spot to a Finnish band.

Keep The Faith went straight to #3 if I remember right so Bounce did a bit better. It would be interesting to know that how many copies more did Zen Café actually sell. Or how many copies Bounce did sell. But let´s just hope that they´ll be in TOP 2 this week too.

Yeah, Keep The Faith didn´t do very well in Finland if you compare it to the other albums:
- BJ & Farenheit 20,000(?) copies
- Slippery When Wet 89,000 copies
- New Jersey 75,000 copies
- Keep The Faith 35,000 copies
- Cross Road 130,000 copies
- These Days 70,000 copies
- Crush 60,000 copies
- OWN 15,000-20,000 copies
- Bounce ????

Together it would make 499,000 (not including Bounce) albums sold in Finland. Quite good for a nation of 5 million.
I Don´t know about the first two but about the rest I´m quite sure. I´ve checked these from some website (can´t remeber which one). Also I´m not 100% sure about the OWN sales as I think I heard it somewhere.

You're right, almost half a million albums isn't all that bad for a nation of 5 million ppl. Especially for a band like Bon Jovi -- they're not exactly Eppu Normaali or whoever that can sell over a million copies of their albums altogether in the sense that they got their fan base but they're not "everyone's favourite pet" like Eppu Normaali are.

Even though it is disappointing that Bounce didn't reach the No. 1 spot, we can still take pride in the fact that Crush was the best-selling non-Finnish album in 2000 over here...and that Cross Road is still the second (?) best-selling non-Finnish album in Finland of all times.

(For a while I actually thought Cross Road was the best-selling non-Finnish album ever, but I think I saw it somewhere that some Led Zeppelin album or some other oldie album has sold even more than that.)

Yes but Eppu Normaali has released maybe 15 albums? Matti Ja Teppo(LMAO! These guys are killing me! Hahahahah, can´t help it! ) have released maybe 30-40 albums and sold maybe 1 million records but you have to count the amount of the albums released. And how many collections have these Finnish bands released? Countless numbers.

Bon Jovi is probably one of the best selling non-finnish bands of all time in Finland
