I'm disappointed too, it's such a shame that our guys didn't make it to No. 1. I can't remember how it was with KTF and with the 80s albums, but at least both These Days and Crush went straight to No 1 on their first week on the Official Finnish Top 40...so I guess I kinda assumed that Bounce would do the same.
I have to say, though, that I would have been even more disappointed if Bon Jovi had lost the No. 1 spot to some other non-Finnish band or act (excluding Elvis cause he's The King). Listening to Finnish music and Finnish bands has been VERY hip and cool and trendy in Finland in the past few years, and Zen Cafe (the band to which Bon Jovi lost the No. 1 spot) has been among the lucky bands to benefit from this rather patriotic fashion in popular music. It wasn't all that many years ago when Zen Cafe was considered almost an "undergound" band and they were playing at this one university party at my university. But with the international success of various Finnish goth & metal bands (HIM, The 69 Eyes, Nightwish and Stratovarius, to name but a few), it suddenly became "the thing to do" over here to listen to domestic music and domestic bands...and that's when the masses found Zen Cafe as well. Now their albums are going gold and platinum and their gigs are sold out wherever they go. So in that sense, if Bon Jovi had lost the No. 1 spot to someone like Eminem or whoever, it would've been even more disappointing than seeing them lose the Top spot to a Finnish band.
