Funny you should say that, the banner i made for Hull, had 4 smirks on it, one in each corner and they took ages to do, the writing was the easy part

just noticed thats an avt next to the jcm.

50 or 100?

recently ive been running right into mine and it's sounded great on the 1st od channel.

today i hooked up all my pedals and the drive just wasnt doing anything for me for the most part. i dunno if i just need to dial them in again but i never touched my sansamp except as a boost which it's really not for.

Awesome guitar Jim - you can just about make out the grain pattern in the top photo link you posted and it certainly looks pretty sweet! You'll have to let me know how it plays on Saturday. How long have you had it?

Yeah, I'd actually considered setting this whole custom amp grilles project up as a small business venture so he would be my first customer! Have you got contact details so that I can talk further with him mate?

I made a banner for Hull which had 2 smirks in the top corners and DRY COUNTY written in big black letters underneath - took me all day to make!! Got to the front barrier and when Jon came over I held it out only to have it jumped on immediately by a d-i-c-k of a steward. Jon only caught a glimpse and when he went back to centre-stage and stopped Tico starting the next song, I thought they were gonna bloody play it! He had a word with the rest of the band and then walked ack to the mic and said (whilst looking straight over at me),

"This is a song that takes us back to our earlier years - this is called 'Blood On Blood'.

I was gutted! Great song and all but cos of that bloody steward, we never got 'Dry County'. Grrrrrr!

I have the talkbox hooked up through the AVT actually. It's only a 50W version but as it's used solely for the talkbox now, I can crank it pretty high without having a ridiculously loud main guitar sound which is run separately through the JCM. I just use an A/B box to switch between the amps and leave the talkbox on all the time as opposed to using its on/off stomp switch as before.

Since Banana Row rehearsal studios here in Edinburgh upgraded all their guitar amps to AVT half-stacks, I have heard the guitar sound through these instead of the JCM during practices and, I must admit, they do sound pretty good.
